My cooking triumphs
Homemade (secret recipe) salsa. My husband developed the recipe and we tweak it a bit each year. Everyone that has tried it begs for the recipe or recommends that we sell it.
My cooking tragedies
Eggplant curry. I followed a recipe in a book - everything seemed to be going well until I added the eggplant. It was really bitter even though we had soaked it as suggested. My husband and I concluded that the eggplant skin ruined the dish... but I don't think I'll be trying it again anytime soon.

The Best Lemon Bars
Great recipe! I usually like to try as-is before altering too much, however I did make a couple minor modifications based on all the other positive reviews: 1) added approx. 1t lemon zest to crust, and 2) sprinkled powdered sugar on top immediately after removing from oven. They turned out great, and I will definitely make these again!

Grilled Rock Lobster Tails
This was my first time cooking lobster, and honestly, the recipe sounded like it might be too bland for my taste...was I wrong! I took a taste of the marinade and thought it tasted like olive oil and couldn't recognize any of the other flavors. I was pretty skeptical of how the lobster would turn out, but the flavors all came together when I basted the tails and grilled. I was really happy with this meal and flavor... just wish I would have cooked more than two tails!

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto
Outstanding recipe. Based on other reviews, we used half the mushrooms. We kept everything else at the same quantity, though I probably added a little extra parmesan to the top before serving. I know we'll make this again and again!
