Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
This was soooooo good! I only used 1 Tbs of white and brown sugar and I use apricot preserves and I can't stop eating it! For the tortillas, I just used a pizza cutter and cut 3 at a time, laid them on the baking sheet, sprayed, sprinkled then sprayed again. Perfect sanitizer for any party.

Lemon Cream Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
I did not use the frosting from this recipe but the cupcakes were very good. A little dense, like a light pound cake almost. That could have been from overmixing though I don't really think I did. But paired with a lemon buttercream frosting I made: 1/2 cup of shortening and butter, 2 Tbs. lemon juice, 4 cups sifted confec. sugar and 2 Tbs of milk at the end, they were super good. A very grown up cupcake, as my mom put it.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
These cookies are phenomenal!! people who have tried these said they dont even like ginger snaps but love these. I did make a few alterations: 2 1/4 teas ground ginger (wasn't gingery enough for me), 1 Tbs of fresh orange juice instead of water, REAL butter instead if margarine and I did flatten my balls before baking them. 7 minutes were perfect (crisp on the edges and soft in the center). LOVE LOVE LOVE these cookies, highly addictive!

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
This cake gets 4 stars simply because everybody who tried my cake loved it. I paired it with a homemade caramel icing and my mom-in-law said "this cake is the ------- bomb! " which I was glad to hear. But in my opinion, it was a bit dry. oh well, if they like it, I love it :)

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

I love this glaze! I couldn't stop licking the pot! I used half an orange and I bought a can of pineapple rings in their own juice and used that as well. Came out pretty and just so good!

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
cookies are so delicious! They did harden quite a bit when they cooled but just pop in the microwave for a few minutes and they are back to fresh-out-of-the-oven soft and chewy! Also, I suggest you flatten the cookie a bit if you don't want lumps of deliciousness :)

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
Really fantastic salad. I didn't have strawberries so i used mandarin oranges and I also didn't toss the spinach with the salad until it was serving time , but I kept both in the fridge before hand. terrific and got my meat only eating family to actually eat the whole bowl!

Zucchini Bread IV

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
really great recipe!! i followed the suggestions and used 1/2 cup of applesauce and 1/2 cup of oil instead of a whole cup of oil. I used 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of brown sugar, a teas. of cinnamon, and 2 table. of butter as a crumble topping. Also, instead of nuts i used a cup of raisins which I first plumped up in some warm water (allergic to nuts unfortunately. But the bread turned out fantastic using these suggestions.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
This was a good starter recipe for me. I did take a few suggestions to make it more my liking though. I first removed the membrane and rub the ribs down in about 2 tablespoons of vinegar than I rubbed them down with a rub consisting of brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, garlic, cumin, and some salt and pepper. i let them marinate in that for 8 hours. then I brush them with my favorite Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce, wrapped each piece individually in greased aluminum foil. I bake them for 2 hours at the time specified, basting them every once in a while. Then I slathered on some more sauce and put them directly under the broiler, meaty side up, for 10 minutes. they were so tender, fell right off the bone, and delicious. Best RECIPE ever.

This is a good recipe. I stuck with the original recipe and made no alterations to it. The meatballs could have used some seasoning. but all in all, a very quick and easy meal.

Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
For a first time griller, I was very worried that I would mess up a good slab of ribs. But this is a nice easy recipe for me to follow and the ribs turned out phenomenal. I cooked it almost exactly like the recipe called for ( I kept checking on ribs, just couldn't leave them alone) but they came out great. I used 'Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs' sauce recipe and they go great together.

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
Sometimes I think people are just a little too picky. This was my first time making bbq sauce on my own and I loved it! It was so good. Thick and a little sweet. I used everything except the whiskey. I did not cook the ribs like the recipe called for( I just grilled them for about an hour), but I did make the sauce and I will definitely be making it again with no changes needed for it.

Chess Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
This was soo good! At first, I had a piece right out of the oven and i wasn't very fond of it, but, next day after I warmed a refrigerated piece, it was phenomenal. So rich and I love the toffee like crust on top and custard like center. The only thing I have to say is that it was done way before an hour, only took 45 min. But will make this again, day ahead of course.
