Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
This was delish! I substituted 1/2 the water with beef broth, and threw in about 1/2 frozen/thawed peas about 15 minutes before we were ready to eat. My family thought that it was the best beef stew that I had ever made. The left-overs were a hit, too! I'll definitely make again. The meat was sooooo tender!! All of this time, I thought that the slow cooker was the only way to go. This recipe blew the slow cooker away! Anxiosly awaiting the next chilly day!

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
Delish! We loved it! We, too used only enough bleu cheese dressing to cover the pizza shell. I sauteed the chicken cubes in the butter and hot sauce and then marinated it in the remaining sauce until we were ready to eat. We purchased our favorite bleu and hot sauce from Texas Roadhouse. The best bleu around by far! It was so spicy and yummy. We'll definitly make again. We also used a combination of cheddar and mozz. for the topping.

Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Beer

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
My husband thought this was the best ever! I, too, browned the kielbasa first, with about half an onion, minced garlic and just a touch of butter. To the beer, I added about 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 2 beef boulion cubes, before adding it to the crockpot. What a delicious way to squeeze beer into my husbands food pyramid!

Italian Green Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
Yummy! My two year old shoved these in his mouth by the handful (after I got him to actually open his mouth and taste them). I used drained, canned green beans because they were on hand and about half the butter. After bringing them to a boil, I just let them simmer, while I prepared the rest of our dinner. I will definitley make again. Hey, whatever it takes to make my two year old to eat something green!

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
My husband and I loved these potatoes. They were a great switch-up to our normal mashed or fried potatoes. I used russets because that's what I had on hand. I cut the potatoes a little too small and they were almost over done. I ended up taking them out ten minutes earlier. I baked them on a foil lined and oiled cookie sheet and sprinkled them with just a touch of cajun seasoning, for an added kick. They smelled wonderful! We had this with the slow cooker Keilbosa and sauerkraut (cooked in beer) from this site. Nice mix of flavors. At my husbands request, we'll be having these again soon.

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
Absolutley the best chili I have ever tasted. Everyone loves it. My husband of course adds a few dashes of Tabasco, but he adds that to everything! We normally are feeding two adults and two children. The leftovers are devoured for several days, as this makes ALOT of chili. I will never try another chili recipe! This is the one for me!
