Broccoli Cheddar Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
This was on the bland side for me. My family didn't hate it, but they said they didn't really want me to make it again. I think it's because I don't make a lot of egg based dishes and they probably weren't used to it. I thought it was decent, but could use some spices to add more flavor.

Black Beans 'N' Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
This was pretty tasty, although I need more kick, so I put tobasco on it. But I only add the tobasco to my individual plate. It's the perfect level of "heat" for my children as it is. We will eat this made with brown rice as a nice healthy side dish.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
These were awesome. Impossible to screw up this recipe. Easiest recipe ever. I baked in a large casserole dish b/c we ran out of foil, so I was worried these wouldn't taste as good, but I was so wrong. Can't wait to try them next time marinated all night and wrapped in foil. The family loved this. And, I'm from Kansas City where we know BBQ!

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
This was just ridiculously delish. My kids were so upset when I put this dip away so they wouldn't fill up on it before dinner. I'm giving this 5 stars, however, it's pretty hard to screw up something this simple!

Pizza Without the Red Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
I'm only giving this four stars because I was the only one in my family that really liked it. My husband doesn't like feta. My daughter does, but she seemed pretty indifferent. My toddler loved the crust. I will definitely make this again for a party or when I crave it for myself. I brought the rest to work for lunch today...I'm hoping the other reviews are right and it's an awesome second-day dish. I would give this a 5 star rating for convenience. It took no time to throw together. Very low maintenance, high flavor dish!

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
These will satisfy a choclate craving after the first bite! I was worried while making them that they would not be sweet enough, but they are so rich, I wouldn't want them any sweeter! Plus, the andes mint candy on top takes care of the sweet factor. YUMMY!

Basa Fillets in Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
This was unbelievably delicious! Next time I may try a different fish, or even try it with chicken, just to see what happens, but it's perfect the way it is as well. If you like tomatillos, you will LOVE this. If you don't know if you like tomatillos, TRY THIS! My 8 year old asked for 3rds! (I pared the jalepenos WAY down for the kiddos). Will make this again and again...very healthy as well, and took no time at all! TRY THIS RECIPE NOW!

Broccoli Sausage Breakfast Bake

I was really surprised that this was so good! I added a tater tot layer and it was excellent. I can't wait to make this for my Thanksgiving breakfast!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
I can only give this 4 stars because although my kids LOVED the stuff, my husband and I were left hungry. There was something about the sour cream and cheese mixture that didn't sit well with us. I will make it again, though, but only make half the amount for my kids, and fix my husband and I something else. It's VERY easy and quick to make, so I wouldn't feel like I was making 2 meals.

Spicy South Of The Border Spinach Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
My initial opinion was this was pretty good after the first bite. Then, I realized it was kind of bland and way too rich for my taste. I will probably make it again for a large group of people and spice it up quite a bit.

Balsamic Chicken and Fresh Mozzarella

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
This was tasty and my family liked it. They didn't LOVE it, but they ate it up and said they would eat it if I made it again. It is extremely hard to please all the different paletts in my house. My husband likes to eat healthy, so this scored with him. My daughter is like me, a meat and potatoes kind of gal, so this still worked due to the chicken and cheese. My toddler will eat anything, so this worked just fine.

Best Green Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
This is a new way to make flavorful green beans, but beware if you are a health nut. After cooking in bacon grease, I'm not sure the green beans count as a healthy dish anymore!

Tortellini, Steak, and Caesar

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
This was pretty good, but I would serve it as a side dish instead of touting it as an entree. Definitely falls in the adult food category. The kids just kind of picked at it. It was nice for something different and took no time at all to make. But, I will only make it again if I need an interesting side salad dish.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I always make the traditional green bean casserole for everyone every Thanksgiving. I rarely eat it myself because I find it bland and boring. This knocked my socks off! Everyone loved it, and I was happy to have the leftovers this year! I have finally finished it off, and it was wonderful. I will make this every year, and any time I have a potluck or occasion to go to that calls for this delicious spin on an old favorite! AWESOME!

Deviled Eggs II

These were pretty good. I will make them again, but next time I will add more mayo to make them a little creamier. Otherwise, these were great!

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
These were a great conversation piece, easy to make, and allowed my 8 year old to take some credit. I did the cutting, but had her assemble the rest, and she enjoyed everyone's comments. They are just adorable and very yummy! They were a big hit and I will make again and again...anytime the occasion calls for it!

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
These were delicious, but the best part was I threw them in the crock pot and forgot about them! They tasted every bit as good as my famous garlic mashed potatoes, but 10 times easier to make. I wish I could give this a 10!

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
I enjoyed this, but ultimately had to add more cream cheese to get it to a smoother consistancy. It didn't seem to bother my guests, who gobbled it up. It went especially well with the salsa I laid out with it!

Sauteed Garlic Asparagus

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
This was just okay. I am not an asparagus fan, I made it for my other guests and had a lot left over. It didn't seem like the others were eating much of it.
