French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2013
This soup is the best of the best!!!! I made it exactly like the recipe states and it was WONDERFUL. I recently had French Onion Soup in Paris, but there is no comparison. I think the secret is taking time, about an hour, to carmelize the onions and a really good red wine in the soup.......and to drink with the soup!!!!

Easy Walnut Raisin Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
Great recipe, although mine didn't turn out very eye-appealing!! I added dried cranberries and pecans, and they were difficult to slice, they fell apart. I pushed them back together and baked another few minutes and they turned out fine, but not appealing enough to give away as gifts. They tasted great and will try again using finely chopped cranberries and nuts.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Very easy to make, looked good with pretty pastel sugars, but they were a little too "buttery" for my taste.

Holiday Pumpkin Bread

Excellent!! Light, flavorful, awesome. I, too, cut the sugar down to 2 cups, and substituted 1/2 c. applesauce for the oil. Very delicious.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

So very good and easy. I used a couple of red potatoes,a yam and a baking potato and it was delicious, no need for thickening. Of course, I added some garlic. At the end of the cooking I added some frozen peas for color. The family loved it

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
Excellent marinade. I only wished I had doubled the recipe for extra sauce. I used 3 tenderloins, so I didn't have any leftover sauce to serving. I received many compliments.

Tim's Green Bean Casserole Extraordinaire

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
A very nice change from the traditional green bean casserole. I made this for a pre-Christmas dinner and everyone loved it. I added some bacon and used the french-fried onion rings. I also cut back on the sour cream. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Chicken Kiev

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
The taste was sensational, but I am such a klutz when it comes to rolling up chicken breasts. I filet them, pound them thin, but it never looks like the pictures. I used fresh lemon peel, garlic, chives, parsley with the butter, it was so tasty. This recipe is definetely a keeper.

Very good although they needed more spice. I added garlic and chives, but they needed something else. Will make again.

It was just OK. There was something missing, it was a little bland for my taste.

Thanksgiving Leftover Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
I have made this recipe twice in one week after Thanksgiving. My family loved it and also my guests. It was so easy and really emptied my refrigerator from all the leftovers. I seasoned the sauce mixture, added more cheese, and some turkey gravy on the mashed potatoes. And of course added a lot more than 1 cup of turkey.

Baked Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
This was a good basic recipe, just have to add a few more things for flavor. I added some sour cream, fresh thyme, a little garlic and some shredded cheese. I topped it with french-fried onion rings. It also took forever to bake. It was very tasty once it was done. (Almost 2 hours)

Libby's® Pumpkin Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
The best!!!! I, too, substituted applesauce for the oil and doubled the cranberries. Very good, moist, and it's a good thing I hid one loaf in the freezer. Next time I would add a little more pumpkin pie spice.

Great Salad. It had a definite sweetness from the corn. Added some fresh ground pepper and it was delicious. It was something different and my guests loved it.
