Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
Very good! My 3 kids liked it too! I shall keep this one. The only reason I didn't say 5 stars is because it needs just a touch more "zing" to it.

Balsamic Tortellini

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
This was really good! I chopped 8 slices of pancetta instead of just 5 though, because I couldn't help myself. It was really good! My 3 year old and 1 year old even liked it!

Feta Cheese Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
These are very good in terms of flavor and ease! I would advise not to use all white meat ground turkey breast, as that is what I used and they were a bit dry. I would use regular ground turkey next time. Over all, this is very tasty turkey burger! I think tzatziki sauce would make an excellent topping too!

Sorry, we didn't like this one at all, unfortunately :( It was salty and the chops were quite dry.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Very easy and also very yummy! I did have to add a little more milk and corn syrup, but it was still very good!

Roasted Chickpeas

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2012
These are very good! I did sea salt and garlic powder on mine. I also found 20-25 minute ate 450 to be plenty. My oven runs hot though. I had to take my smoke detector down momentarily because the olive oil caused a ruckus, but other than that- these are very good!

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
This was more 3 1/2 stars. It was all eaten, but I felt it needed more flavor- and even using 2 onions and the bell pepper- I felt like I lost my peppers and onions in there somewhere. There weren't leftovers, at least, so it's not terrible. It can easily be tweaked into a very good meal though.

Alfredo Light

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2012
This was really good. It was thin, but it did thicken a little as it stood. I didn't add any veggies to mine, but I did add a couple pinches of nutmeg and sprinkled more Parmesan on top. It's tasty. I wouldn't really say it was an "Alfredo" though.

Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2012
These are fantastic! I never knew how easy it was to make garlic smashed potatoes just like from a restaurant...actually, better than restaurants, because these are REAL! I would add more garlic next time, but I am a garlic fanatic.

Hearty Beef Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
This was pretty good! I replaced the teriyaki sauce with worcestershire and used more potatoes and another stalk of celery and baby carrots. It was very good!

Cuban Midnight Sandwich

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
These are very, very delicious! I did sub out the Swiss for provolone- but that was mainly because my family doesn't like Swiss quite like I do. Otherwise, I followed the recipe and it was great! I will make this again!

Traditional Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
I have made this twice now- and it is good, but I prefer to add the spices and more of them during cooking of the onions and beef, I also add a bit more sauce- they taste like Spanish rice filled peppers!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2012
Very good! I would change only 2 things: I'd add a little more liquid (water of chicken broth) because the chicken was a little dry and/or less cooking time than 6 hours. It really only needs 5 hours tops. Other than that, it's delicious! I made my own Italian dressing seasoning.

Broccoli Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2012
This was okay. I think it needed onions and more spices and flavor. It was easy enough to make for a okay dinner though.

Zucchini Tomato Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2012
This was pretty good. I used up zucchini and tomatoes from my garden to make it. It is a light, tasty meal. The only thing I would do differently is I would add more spices, it needed a bit more flavor.

These came out dry and to "clove" tasting for us. My kids really liked them though, so that's a plus!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Maybe I did something wrong, but this didn't come out very well for me. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be from other reviews.

Ranch Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2012
I had never made fried green tomatoes before and this looked like something I could enjoy. The recipe is easy enough to follow, it came out the way it's supposed to. However, I ran into a problem with taste :/ My family and I felt this was very salty and the Ranch and salt made the tomatoes taste very acidic. I am not sure if it's the Ranch seasoning or the additional salt that did it, but if you choose this recipe, I think the additional sea salt is best left out. Otherwise, it's easy, they become a nice golden color and have very good texture. I am sorry that we didn't enjoy it.
