Truly Coconutty Cream Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2014
This recipe was WAY too involved and complicated to warrant the outcome. The flavor was good, but not good enough to make me want to ever make this again.

Followed the recipe as is and this was the most delicious chicken pot pie I've ever had. Creamy and flavorful, perfect comfort food! It's a keeper!

Gingerbread Boy Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
Yum! I like these because they don't have an overpowering "spice" flavor. Also, they are soft-ish with crunchy edges when done right (I cooked mine for 6 min.). The dough seems kind of runny and sticky right after you mix it, but after you divide it and chill it for at LEAST 2 hours, it is very easy to work with- and this is coming from someone who usually has trouble with dough. So I wouldn't recommend adding flour, though it seems tempting. The recipe is really good as is. Thanks!!

Ricotta Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
These are so fluffy and soft! They have a slightly cake-like texture and are delicately sweet and creamy. Delicious! I used the sugar cookie glaze recipe found here on Allrecipes.com and drizzled it over the top. Perfect! I chose not to add sprinkles because I thought it would be too crunchy for the delicate cookie. They are easy drop cookies to make, too. My family was crazy about them, will definitely be making them again.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
Absolutely delicious. Super moist. I made this for my mother-in-law's birthday and it was a big hit. We all fought over the left-overs. I took another reviewers advice and used 1/2 the oil and it was perfect, anymore oil and I don't see how the cake would have baked through. I also baked it at 325 for about 55 min. YUM! We'll be having this again and again:)

Wanda's Chicken Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
This was delicious, the whole family loved it. We were out of mushrooms so I replaced one can of cream of chicken with a can of cream of mushroom. And I used fresh carrots (sauteed with the onions & celery) It was an easy one dish meal. We'll definitely be making this a favorite.

Canadian Won Tons

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
My family loved these! I had some won ton wrappers that needed to be used and this was perfect. We had these for dinner so I made them ravioli-style for bigger portion sizes. They had a delicious creamy filling and the veggies inside were a great compliment. I will make these again!

Salmon Cakes III

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
These are really tasty, they have a very good flavor. They were fast and easy to make. I had to add a couple more pieces of bread in order to soak up some moisture so I could shape them into patties. We used the garlic aoili that another reviewer suggested, it topped off the salmon cakes perfectly. Yum:)

Fried Empanadas

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
These were so good, and a big hit with everyone at my dinner party. I followed the recipe, but left out the eggs and used refrigerated dough. I fried them in an electric skillet because I don't have a deep fryer. The flavor was wonderful, it sounds like a strange combo; beef, paprika & cumin with raisins, but they are delicious!

Beer Margaritas

Reviewed: May 25, 2008
Thanks for this recipe, these were delicious! No one could believe there was beer in them. Very authentic tasting. I only added half the amount of tequila (lightweights!)and it was still very good. We'll be having these often. Plan on doubling the recipe if you have more than a few people.

Buffalo Chicken Wings II

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
I was really disappointed with the way these turned out. I took these to a family party where everyone loves spicy food and it was actually embarrassing how mild these were (even to me, and I am really wimpy). Not only were they not spicy enough, they were quite bland and kind of greasy. I also made the Glazed chicken wings off this website (honey, soy & bbq) and they were a much bigger hit, they were all eaten up!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
I just made this for Easter dinner. We liked it, but I think the cream of mushroom recipe beats this one. The sour cream adds kind of a sharp/tangy flavor. I used a combo of fresh and canned beans (what I had on hand) and topped with fried onions, because I like them. It was pretty good, but I think I'll stick with the classic recipe.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs I

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
I took this to a family gathering and it was a big hit. I brought about 60 meatballs for 12 people and they disappeared! I added a few drops of liquid smoke. Next time I think I'll use a little less jelly and a little more chili sauce/ketchup and more smoke because I thought they were just a bit too sweet.

Slow Cooked Apple Brown Betty

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
The flavor of this recipe was good, but the texture was off. I was expecting a bread pudding-type dessert. However it wasn't as moist as bread pudding, and it wasn't crispy either. The topping was just dry. Maybe next time I'll mix up the bread topping with the apples. I did like the ease and simplicity of this dessert. I served it with vanilla ice cream.
