Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: May 3, 2010
Loved it! I made this exactly as the recipe said, but I doubled the sauce because my husband loves asian sauces. It was delicious. Thank you for sharing!

Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
This is simply delicious! I am watching my added sugar intake, so I halved the honey and didn't add the additional sugar, and it came out great. Thank you for the recipe.

My very finicky husband loves these! I didn't include ranch or cheese, but added everything else and they are delicious!

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
Love these! So easy, and so good! The only change I made was to substitue one cup of whole wheat flour for the white flour, and they came out delicious. I can't wait to try varieties with raisins, blueberries, etc. Thanks for a great, easy to use recipe.

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
Wonderful! I took another reviewer's advice and only used one cup of flour. I also cut the butter in half and substitued 1/2 cup applesauce for the remaining butter. Because of the applesauce, the cooking time was longer - 45 minutes for me - but these are moist and delicious and very easy.

Power Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
I have to revise my review. I originally made this recipe with oatmeal intead of Grape Nuts and really liked it. I have since made it with the Grape Nuts and also like it that way. One modification I have done is cut the sugar in half and used half honey in lieu of half the corn syrup. Comes out great either with oatmeal or Grape Nuts. Oatmeal version is softer, more like a traditional Power Bar; Grape Nuts is crunchier, more like a dessert, I think. Regardless of which way they're made, they're great!

Super easy and super tasty. I used chicken breasts for this recipe and it was a big hit with my finicky husband. Thank you for sharing!

Pie Crust V

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2008
This pie crust is tasty AND easy to make. I used egg substitutes and half applesauce in place of half the butter. Came out great. One tip for dummies like me - roll the dough out onto a floured surface!

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
I have made this recipe 4 times now, and it has been good every time. The last time I made it, I added 1 t of white sugar to the yeast and water mixture, and the dough came out even better than before. My husband said he likes it better than any of the pizza places we would typically order from. Thank you for sharing!

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
So good! This was a huge hit, and gone in one evening. I added a dash of rosemary to the dough, but otherwise didn't change a thing. Very easy to make, and tasty with a pasta dish. Thank you!

Chicken and Cashews

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
This was a very good dinner - a 4.5 as many others have said - though not quite restaurant quality (probably because it is fairly healthy). I added fresh red bell pepper to the recipe and served with asian veggies and brown rice. It passed the picky husband test, so that makes this a keeper!

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
I really liked this recipe. I followed it to the T, except I used skim milk and egg substitutes in lieu of milk and eggs. I did add 1/3 cup brown sugar to the sugar/cinnamon mixture for the swirl - and it came out so good and gooey. Paired with a little cream cheese frosting, this is a great dessert as well. Thank you for sharing!

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
I have made these a half dozen times now, and they always come out great. I substitute kosher salt for the salt, egg substitute for the egg and applesauce for the oil. I put in only 1/2 C brown sugar as suggested by others, and don't keep wheat germ on hand, so just add a bit more oats to make up for leaving that out. These are a huge hit with my husband, who hasn't touched store-bought granola since I started making these.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
These oatmeal cookies are the best! Soft and moist, very yummy. I followed the recipe, except subsituted 1/2 cup applesauce for 1/2 cup of the butter, and added about a teaspoon of fresh ground nutmeg. They were a big hit with my husband, who is already asking for more! Thank you for sharing the recipe!

Fabulous Homemade Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
This bread is fantastic. My husband is a somewhat picky eater, and he absolutely loved it. I made a half batch, and substituted 1/2 melted butter and 1/2 olive oil for the vegetable oil and it came out great. I have been trying to find a good non-bread machine bread recipe for a while - this one is a keeper!
