Blueberry Quick Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
I have made this about 4 times this summer. We love it. I make it exactly as written. I have started using about a cup less berries recently. 3 cups was just too much for preference. It's still really good with the 3 cups too.

Sock it to Me Cake III

Made it just like the recipe. My daughter loved it, I thought it was a bit bland, but it was still good.

I make these all the time! I have family member that asked for just these for Christmas! I gave them in mason jars with a bow.

Cinnamon Popcorn II

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
Would be sooooooo much better if it was baked. It would be crunchy. Next time I try this, I will bake it like I do my Amish caramel corn recipe. This one is mushy. Hardly anyone touched it at the party, and the caramel one was almost gone!

Cinnamon Pastry Wedges

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
This is a quick fun sweet snack. It's not something I would make for a company or anything, but it was nice for the kids and my husband. I only made cinnamon ones. My husband said "These taste like apple pie without the filling." Will make again for a fun snack.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
Tastes just like Cracker Jack's. I make this every year to take on a week long vacation. Stores great and holds up in the container all week just fine.

Applesauce Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
I made with whole wheat flour, it was good, just kinda plain. Next time, I am going to add nuts and maybe use chunky applesauce or use chunks of apple. I added extra extra cinnamon and a dash of vanilla. I will also make with half white flour and half wheat. I was a VERY MOIST bread though.

Chocolate Zucchini Cookies

Very good! Almost a cake-like texture. Loved it. Didn't change a thing about the recipe either. I will be making these for an upcoming vacation, however I will be doubling the recipe.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
This is the only salmon recipe we use. We had tons of salmon due to a very productive fishing trip. We marinate it for about 2+ days though. Really good. People who normally won't touch salmon, love it.

It was okay, but not good enough for me to keep the recipe to make again. No rave reviews.

Red Potato Salad with Sour Cream and Chives

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
It was a little bland, so I added a pound of crumbled bacon and a few shakes of red pepper flakes. It added some kick without being too hot. I would prefer it a little creamier next time. It tasted like a loaded baked potato. It was good. Had lots of compliments with my alterations.

I really liked this. Good warm with butter. Next time I am adding more cinnamon and a little more chocolate chips. I also used frozen chips, per the previous reviews. Worked well.

Slow Cooker Venison Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
I wouldn't eat it. I couldn't stand the smell. My husband said it was good and ate it non-shredded, like a stew. I would not use the cumin, that was what I didn't like about the smell.

Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
This is usually the way I make mashes potatoes, but usually don't use reds. I love it this way too. I use minced garlic however, (the kind from the jar) I didn't have any cloves on hand. I added them when I added sour cream. I also added a little garlic salt.

Baked Onion Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
This was very good. I got A LOT of compliments on it. I did change it a little. I only used about a 1/4 cup of mayo. 1/2 cup of sour cream and a block of cream cheese. I used Colby/Jack cheese instead of Swiss.

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
This is wonderful. Instead of a big vanilla pudding I used a small vanilla and a small cheesecake pudding. I used almost double the pumpkin pie extract too. SOOOOOO good. I used graham crackers and ginger snaps to serve with. On the crackers, it tastes just like pumpkin pie. I took this to a family function last weekend and had a few people request I make it for Thanksgiving coming up.
