About this Cook
I am definitely a beginner but have a passion for cooking and learning! Plus I love to eat! LOL!!! ;O
My favorite things to cook
Love to cook Italian as well as American Dishes. My favorite dish is a pasta dish called "Sciue Sciue" from my favorite cook, Giada De Laurentis!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family has awesome cooks! It's a shame it wasn't handed down to my generation :( My Gram started it with her amazing Mexican Dishes and my Aunts have continued with Mexican as well as American Dishes. My Mom is the best though... She's made everything from Italian, to Chinese, to Irish, etc., etc... Everyone says she should be a caterer or a party planner and I definitely agree! My favorite tradition is our annual tamale making at Christmas time. All the women get together and make tamales for Christmas. It's a time for us to get together to talk, laugh and eat!
My cooking triumphs
I do make a mean grilled cheese sandwich! And my "St. Patty's Day" Party was amazing!!! I made a "complete" dinner with all the fixings and it was FANTASTIC!!! The best part was that I did it all by myself with no help from Mom - That felt great!
My cooking tragedies
Beef, beef and more beef! I just can't seem to get any type of beef dish right. Everything from the BBQ to Oven Dishes turn out either raw or overcooked. I need help :(

Beer Brats
First time I have ever made something like this and it was delicious! Will make again since it was tasty and so easy.

Penne with Shrimp
I used this as a base for my recipe so my review is not a "true review" but I love what I made. I used chicken instead of shrimp. As other reviewers did, I added seasonings to this. I used Italian seasoning, garlic poweder (in addition to the fresh), basil and chili flakes. I also added peas and mushrooms to it. It was DELICIOUS!!!

Jalapeno Popper Spread
Absolutely fantastic! I doubled the jalapeno to 4 oz and mixed in the parmesan cheese. If you bake the spread, mix in most of the cheese and then sprinkle cheese on top for a cheesy crust.
