About this Cook
I am working mom, who rushes at the end of the day to do homework and rush two girls to dance class. My older daughter attends dance a mimimum of 5 hours a week and alot more during competition season.
My favorite things to cook
Easy things, with great flavor. My favorite recipe on this site is Spanish Rice II; I had have slighlty motified for my own tastes and style and love it's simplicity with cooking in one pan.
My favorite family cooking traditions
A holiday cranberry salad. I haven't posted it to this site yet, but plan to in the future. My mom use to make it and now I do at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
My cooking triumphs
Making my families Cranberry Salad..I use my great grandmothers meat grinder to grind fresh, frozen cranberries and ripe banana's. Along with whipping cream in my new KitchenAid Mixer. I never thought I would pull it off, but I did.
My cooking tragedies
This Christmas, I tried three different styles of snickerdoodle cookies, all had to be thrown out. All my products were new and I could never figure out what went wrong. Luckily I recovered, with the always simple chocolate cookies! (But sadly no snickerdoodles, my husbands favorite.

Mushrooms with a Soy Sauce Glaze
I've been making this on my own for years, my only addition.... a splash of white wine and I throw everything in together at the same time and cook on low for 15-20 minutes.

Chocolate-Filled Crescents
We make these all the time... didn't know there was an "official" recipe. Try adding some strawberry cream cheese to the inside, it kicks it up a bit!!!
