Slow Cooker Party Mix

This is good enough, but not necessarily attention grabbing. I used celery seed rather than celery salt to avoid a too salty snack. The change was nice.

Barley Primavera

I've never enjoyed barley so much! The lemon juice really let this dish sing. I did not have fresh parsley so I used dried even that did not detract from the great combination of flavors.

Foil-Pack Taco Chicken Dinner

These were easy to prepare and easy to clean up! They got an extra star just for that. I wanted to get a head start on dinner so I parboiled the potatoes after peeling and slicing them. That way I could pop the packets in the fridge without worrying about the potatoes discoloring. Potatoes seemed like an odd choice for the taco theme . . . though they turned out well, I'll use cooked rice next time. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the packets were. I let them bake the full 35 minutes and think that I'll take them out closer to 30 minutes next time.

Baked Tofu Bites

I was excited to try this recipe. I loved the sesame seeds. However, I halved the marinade and it was still too much. It was saltier than I wanted, but I'm notorious for my salt aversion. I think I would prefer a ginger based marinade to this soy based marinade.
