Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff II

My family loved this, but I only used it for a rough guide. I placed 1lb cubed stew beef in the crock pot. Added 2 cups water with 1.5 T veggie better than bullion, 1 small can of mushrooms, and 1 pack of dry onion soup mix. Cooked on low high for about 5 hours. Added 1 c FF sour cream and a T cornstarch premixed in a little water in the last 20 minutes.

Squash Pie

Delicious! The recipe fills two frozen pie crusts. I used a mix of the different squash from my local farm - 1 butternut, 1 delicata, and 1 acorn. Yum! Like other reviewers I increased the spices; doubled the cinnamon and nutmeg and added a dash of ground cloves. Instead of hot milk I used fat free evaporated milk. The squash wasn't as smooth as canned pumpkin so I also used my immersion hand blender to break up any chunks once all of the ingredients were mixed.

Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

This was voted best soup by my husband. I made it with ground turkey instead of leftovers and used chicken stock instead of bullion.

Crab-Stuffed Catfish

Yum! I didn't have many of the ingredients, but I used the recipe as a guide. Instead of crabmeat, I made a mushroom and onion stuffing by sauteing a half an onion and a half a box of button mushrooms (both chopped) in the 2 T butter. I was also out of breadcrumbs so I used crushed crackers. Even my picky 4 year old ate this.

Baked Ziti IV

This has become our family's regular Ziti. We love it. We also frequently follow the changes listed by one reviewer where she substituted 3 chicken breasts for the meat, Alfredo sauce for the tomato sauce and added spinach. I've given away the "white ziti" recipe several times.

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Great Bread! I've tried it with all whole wheat flour, part whole wheat / part white bread flour and whole wheat flour with wheat gluten. It was great all three ways, but the loaf was a little uneven the time I used just whole wheat flour.
