I'm a middle schooler, and I first used all recipes for a latin america project, where we had to make something to do with latin america. I made the Brazil-style coconut cake.
My favorite things to cook
I mainly like to cook desserts and breakfasts, like crepes and pancakes. I have done a dinner, but it turned out disasterous. I prefer to do the after-dinner items, and things early in the morning so the whole house wakes up to the (hopefully) great smell of whatever I'm making!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom, during Thanksgiving, always makes an awesome fruit jello, and after the dinner, there's usually none of it left! She also makes a really good Chicken-Corn Chowder, which I have posted on the website. Definetely try it!
My cooking triumphs
My biggest cooking triumph was when I was about 10. I actually put the dish inside a 400-degree oven with mitts on by myself! I also, at a French camp called Lac du Bois, made crepes for a week-long project with 10 other kids. We had made a Cafe Crocodile and served French food to our parents on the last day of camp.
My cooking tragedies
My biggest cooking tragedy was when I was making granola with my grandma. I put the oil in the batter too early, and the batch turned out a little greasy. However, it was edible, and I apologized and helped to clean it up.
