Gingerbread Cookies

Followed recipe exactly. Molasses stinks and I have never used before so I thought the cookies would be nasty I was soo wrong! I didn't experiance any of the problems other people did. I used grandmothers molasses don't know if that matters though and butter flavored crisco.

Beef Tamales

Only used the recipe for the masa and it came out very good. I plan to make the meat next time but I really like using my pork for tamales. I wish someone would post what the consistency is supposed to be like.

Creamy Eggnog Fudge

Everyone loved this recipe at church only thing I changed is I accidently put 3/4 cup eggnog and lots of fresh ground nutmeg it really makes a difference I did one batch with rum flavoring and one without the kids liked them better without. Also I did not use nuts since nobody in my house likes them but me. I didn't use a candy thermometer but did like one reviewer suggested and boiled for six minutes. two batches both came out great and I have never made fudge before.

Pumpkin Cookies VII

this was easy enough for the kids to help. my hands were still greasy from the pans when I formed the balls so it was pretty easy. I didn't use the frosting because pumpkin pie mix instead of plain pumpkin was subsituted (by accident) but they were great. loved by the entire family.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

I uped the recipe to 32 and used 2 eggs, 2 egg yolks, and one bag of mini chocolate chips and they came out fantastic. This is our new family recipe for chocolate chip cookies...the kids have re-named them "stay up all night, drop it low cookies"...teenagers....

Ham with Honey and Brown Sugar Glaze

I read the reviews first. Then added some white sugar to help it carmalize. I also put crushed pineapple on the ham while it cooked with the cloves . Because I put the glaze on when I put the ham on it did begin to blacken a little on one corner, no big deal because it was on top of the crushed pineapple so I just pushed that part off. The kids were even dipping their turkey in the leftover juices just like Dad.

Quick Mix Spritz

I tried three different recipes this year so far this is the only keeper. I had no problems except...I have six kids running around the kitchen and forgot to put sugar in the first test batch (only like 10 cookies) so I quickly added 1/2 cup sugar to the dough and they were just fine. update**I have now been using recipe for over a year and the quality ingredients you use makes the difference I use Pillsbury's best flour real butter 1/2 cup and butter flavored Crisco 1/2 cup I am trying to make some for Chistmas baskets but can't keep the hubby and kids out of them! My eggs also are already 1/4 cup so I just add a couple drops of water.

Pani Popo (Hawaiian Coconut Bread)

I made this for my mother's birthday (along with a Polynesian rib recipe I got from here)since she loves Polynesian food. It was a big hit and I make it all the time now. my mom will actually come over watch my kids and do my laundry if I promise to make it. I always make it before she gets here because if she sees how easy it is I will loose my laundry service:) I am going to try to make the dough out of a cinnamon roll recipe dough I got from Paula Deen ...I'll let you know how it goes.

Ganache I

I am a beginner with ganache and it came out fantastic. I tried it with milk chocolate to try and make a fluffy milk chocolate for the kids, and failed horribly I will keep looking for a recipe for milk chocolate the is fluffy like the whipped ganache.

Marshmallow Fondant

Mine came out too dry but I believe it is my fault I was still able to let the kids roll it out and we still put it on the cake and used the left overs for eatable playdoh. It was very fun and we will try again.

Old-Fashioned Fudge

I think 238 is too high I boiled it for about 3 minutes and checked the old fashioned way since my mom was there to help the thermometer kept slipping off and I think I got a reading of 225-230? The fudge came out perfect like my mom remembers my gramma making. thank you this was my Christmas gift to her.

Cinnamon Rolls II

not enough cinnamon for me and too much brown sugar. the dough would be great for pizza but I did not like it in this recipe. this was my first time making cinnamon rolls but I followed the recipe exactly.
