Honey-Orange Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
This was my first time making ham glaze and everyone LOVED it! I followed allrecipe's video on how to cook a ham and the ham turned out great. I used allspice instead of clove.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
SOOOOOOO YUMMY!!! I wanted to make some pound cake to serve with strawberry and whip cream, but this cake tastes so good by itself. It turned out sweeter than I thought but still EXCELLENT! I used half almond extract and half vanilla extract. I also used softened butter to make the creaming easier.

Asian Style Country Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
This is similar to a popular Korean food called Kalbi, but Kalbi is made with beef, so I think this marinade will work with beef, like round steak. I didn't have lime juice so used lemon instead, and I didn't have Sriracha sauce so I used 1/2 tsp of hot pepper flakes. I marinaded for only 3 hours and then cooked in the oven at 350 for 1 hours (I didn't know I had to marinade it until I was getting to make it for today). It was delicious! My daughter, who just turned two, asked for more after she finished her plate. It probably could have been marinaded a bit longer, but I put leftover marinade juice on the meat (I should also note that I only used 3 boneless meat for the entire marinade). The meat was still tender (not like crock pot tender but tender enough), but I thought it was a little salty so I'll use less soy sauce next time. Overall, it was fabulous!

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
I used shredded cheddar cheese and it melted faster, plus I was able to put the cheese closer to the edges and the corners. It was great!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
AWESOME COOKIES! I have never liked oatmeal cookies, but decided to use this recipe to make them to add to my Christmas goodies basket. I tried one cookie and immediately decided to make another batch for me and my family to eat. I used all butter, allspice instead of cloves, and soaked raisins in warm water for 10 minutes. They were so moist and chewy!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
I made all the changes MarcieJ suggested, and the cookies turned out perfect on my first try. Marcie's suggestions were: don't soften butter, just cut into 1TBSP and then beat it, add 1/4 c more of flour, put in freezer for 10 minutes before putting in oven, and bake for 14 minutes at 340 degrees. I also used chapstick cap to make the indentations and used strawberry jam. For the glaze, I had to use 2 1/2 tsp of milk to get the right consistency and then I used a small syringe to glaze over the cookies (you can get one at a pharmacy counter - make sure it has a good suction). Great cookies and very pretty!!!

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
I made this for a skin care party I was having, but unfortunately only few people made it. So, I had quite a bit of leftover of these pecans, but all my guests asked if they could take some home! They were a huge hit. Definitely use vanilla instead of water and double the egg white. Use ziplog bags to coat. Much easier.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2008
I took this to a church function, and it was the first dessert to be gone. It was completely gone within 10 minutes. I left the cream cheese out in room temp for about 45 minutes so that it was easier to beat. I used 3/4 of the sweet condensed milk, but it was still too sweet so I'll probably use about half next time. I used a round bowl and made two layers. It was great!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2008
This cheesecake was great. I'm eating another slice as I write this review. I used generic white chocolate chips, and it turned out fine. It was a huge hit at the get-together I took it to.

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2008
I was looking for something quick and easy to make at the last minute, so I made this dish. I didn't have rice wine or snow peas, so I used apple juice and fresh sliced mushrooms instead. It turned out great. I would double the sauce next time to make more juice to serve with rice.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
Whenever I ask my husband how he liked the dinner I cooked, his usual reply is "It's alright." But with this one, he raved about it. I threaded the chicken with green and red bell peppers and pineapple chunks, and they go very well with the chicken. It's highly recommended!
