Single and little interest in cooking much. Would rather cook for lots than just me. Need to come up with some recipes for one or two.
My favorite things to cook
BREAD! I love experimenting with making my own bread. For yeast breads, I love my bread machine for the kneading and prep. Then I can turn them out into my own loaves. SOUPS, especially my refrigerator soup.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Penn-Dutch- potpie made with ham, potatoes and fresh egg noodles, Drake salad (warm dressing. Southern, beans and cornbread. Fresh salsa and chips. Pacific NW -crab, venison, salmon, and oh the fruit.
My cooking triumphs
STOGIE - A recipe that everyone seems to like. Ground beef, onions, cream of mushroom soup, and buttermilk over noodles.
My cooking tragedies
I was cooking for some family members who had come to visit while my parents were on the road. My gravy was way too thick and the mashed potatoes too thin. Ah well, 14 year olds should be allowed at least one do-over.
