Grandmas Bogie's Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2014
Great recipe! I had some leftover Romano cheese, used it instead of Parmesan. Loved it! Also, if you any leftover from the meal, keep it and pour spaghetti sauce on it, piece of cheese, and have wonderful Chicken Parmesan spaghetti!

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2014
This recipe is the best I've ever had, and I'm not really a fan of deviled eggs. I'll eat them, but they aren't..... "special" to me. On this recipe, I have made it with the original ingredients YUMMY, and I have also tried it with shredded Romano cheese (I had some left over) instead of cheddar cheese. The cheddar is better, but the Romano will do in a pinch, just a different flavor.

Simply Delicious Meat Loaf and Gravy

Reviewed: May 17, 2014
As a rule, I DO NOT LIKE meatloaf. But this one was delicious! Instead of using Golden Mushroom soup, I had a can of "regular" mushroom soup and it worked! I used home-made Italian bread crumbs. I'm keeping this recipe!

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2014
I love shrimp scampi, but never tried to make it. Always bought the frozen stuff in the grocery store. After trying this recipe, I will never buy it in frozen foods again! This was very easy. I didn't grill, instead, I stir fried in electric skillet. Used parsley herb instead of fresh, works just as well, but use less. Tried substituting fresh cilantro for the parsley, EVEN BETTER!

Firecracker Scallops

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2014
I wasn't successful with this recipe, but I know where I messed up. My scallops were frozen. When I put them into the bacon grease/butter/Garlic powder pan, it got watered down. Thus, it took way more than 4 minutes to cook, because I was waiting for the water to boil out. Bottom line: Make sure your scallops are THAWED!

Chicken Breasts with Lime Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2013
The good news is..... the butter and lime made this chicken MOIST, even when you reheat it in the microwave as a leftover. On the other hand, I agree with another reviewer that less butter could be used. The bad news is..... I didn't like it that well. But, I didn't have chives, I made it without chives. Perhaps the chives is an important ingredient. I cooked it on 200 in an electric skillet. Like another reviewer stated, there was no grease left to get rid of. But, keeping the heat low helped keep the lime juice from evaporating.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2013
I am not a fan of roma tomatoes. I used grape tomatoes. VERY GOOD! I don't think cherry tomatoes would work. One time I accidentally forgot the cilantro and I liked it just as well without the cilantro. I also found that it didn't matter between fresh garlic or garlic powder, but fresh is always better. I used my blender, just threw all ingredients in. TRY THIS ON A TRISCUIT CRACKER!!!!!!!!!

Hot Chocolate Mix

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2013
An addendum to my review. I found that if you use high quality powdered milk, it's better. I bought Carnation, which was very fine powder, and it worked the best with this recipe. Buying cheap generic store brand powdered milk, which tends to be more granular, doesn't work as well.

Fried Rice I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
easy to make and good way to use up leftover rice. I tried a couple of modifications. I added frozen brocoli and some sliced fresh carrots. Also added a few shakes to taste of crushed red pepper seasoning. Also tried it with sesame oil instead of vegetable oil. Does give a slightly different flavor.

Moist Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
I suck at making bread. This recipe worked wonders in a bread machine. Just make the dough and let it rise in the bread machine. Then take it out and make the cinnamon rolls.

Crumbed Avocado Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2013
I felt that 2 eggs plus 3 egg yolks was a waste. So, instead of dipping the steak into a beaten "whole" egg, I used the three egg whites from the three egg yolks. Worked fine! I didn't have Dijon mustard, used Spicy Brown, it worked. I would love to try it with Dijon. This recipe is good, but a bit of a pain to make.

Salmon with Dill

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2013
Absolutely easy to make! I didn't have onion powder, I used garlic powder, a generous sprinkling on both sides. I also used a generous sprinkling of dill weed, both sides. Also, lots of butter. I went sparingly on the pepper, and I used ground pepper. I didn't use any salt at all, trying to cut down on salt. This is now my number 1 salmon recipe. Great with steamed asparagus. This recipe will encourage me to eat more salmon.

I suck at making meatballs, and this recipe was so wonderful you can smell the garlic in the meatballs even after they are frozen! Can either bake them or fry them after making.

I omitted the shrimp. At the end of the baking, I poured a small amount of cream and stirred it in. GOOD!

Alice's Sour Cream Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
Another review. I had some leftover cilantro. Chopped it up and added it to the sauce before cooking. WONDERFUL! And I agreee with cooking it in a pot or skillet as opposed to microwaving it.

Fried Steak with Peppercorn Gravy Sauce

If you don't have any gravy mix, you can make some with the following: 1/4 cup corn starch 1 Tablespoon Beef Boullion granules Pepper to taste garlic powder to taste Mix this all together, then follow the rest of the recipe. The gravy is TO DIE FOR! The small splash of white vinegar just makes it!

Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
I had a bunch of red potatoes to use up, so I was interested in this recipe I had to make due with what I had. Didn't have any chives, but I put dried parsley and dried dill weed, GREAT! Also, I didn't have red onion, just used regular onion. Didn't have cheddar cheese, used shredded parmesean cheese. GREAT! I made it one other time with Cheddar cheese and it's much better. So, use cheddar cheese if you have it, but can use parmesan in a pinch. Oh, definitely use MORE bacon! I used three pieces.
