About this Cook
I am a professional chef, devoted wife, and daughter. My life surrounds food and food surrounds my life. I currently am writing a Culinary Book "101 Things You Will Never Eat"
My favorite things to cook
Italian and game meat
My favorite family cooking traditions
I started Once a Month cooking with my mom (after my mother-in-law sent me a book about it), and we've been doing it ever since. It is the greatest thing I have ever done in my home!
My cooking triumphs
A) Cooking my family a month's worth of meals at once! B)Cooking for the band Little Feet while they were in Italy and I was there during an extership.
My cooking tragedies
My worst day during cooking school was my last day cooking there. I picked out the hardest recipe available. Ducked steamed in green tea with an orange sauce. I thought that infusing wine with the tea first would be super extra flavorful and make it all the better. I grabbed a bottle of sweet white wine, infused it, and started steaming. Well the sugar in the wine burned so bad there was a literal quarter inch schmuck on the edges of the pan. I took the duck out (since it was elevated from the schmuck) and finished it in the oven. The Dean had come for lunch and knew that smoked duck was on the menu. I grabbed a piece, drenched it in the sauce and he LOVED it! He said it was the best Duck he'd ever had from that kitchen and wanted to know how I made it so different. I would have told him, but I had two hours of scrubbing one pot ahead of me, so I ducked out of the dining room early to get that head start.

Farmer's Casserole
This is wonderful for breakfast. Also note that you can freeze it before you bake it. It works wonderfully!

Shirred Eggs
Made it exactly and it was greatl! It was easy to make. It was a bit bland, I recommend increasing the onion and parmesan cheese.

Super Easy Doughnuts
Made it exactly. Put the powdered sugar on too early and it turned into a sugar sludge. It was wonderful otherwise!
