Adobo Sirloin

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
We loved it, the complexity yet simple flair with a kick was just what we were looking for. And, I don't rate marinades, I've never been convinced of the effects they have - I wanna taste and feel the impact to the texture. This may be great for any type of steak - we used skirt steak labeled in the grocers fridge as "marinate." We love it, and will use it again and again.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
Made exactly as written. They were a hit. Perhaps a 'tad' salty b/c of the bacon and chedder (so be sure not to add salt).

Hearty Hamburger Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
I was looking for a tasteful, not too citric (v8), beef barley veggie soup. I have tried several recipes and this one is at the top of the list. Thanks.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
This is the best recipe I've made thus far. I doesn't remind of me true restaurant style, but it's pretty darn good and fresh/authentic tasting versus the others you see with cans of cream of chicken, etc.

Our favorite to make at home. I'm not a big wiz or very knowledgable at chicken divan dishes, but I always enjoy this recipe!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Yes, this is it. I have perfected many a chili recipe, but I still wondered. Today, we were in the mood for chili and I searched for something new. This was a nice, rich, hearty but light recipe and proved to be a good base. The tomatoe base's are nice (sauce and paste). Only half the juice, and added a can of dice tomatoes with chili peppers, and chiptole or two. Wow, very happy. The taste was not extremely unique, but ecompased the great features of a basic+ chili recipe. This is it for a "chili" recipe.

Zippy Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Exactly what I was looking for. Used Uncle Ben's long grain packets and no mushyness (no where on the box said "instant"). This is now staple rice dish for us. It can go with anything, and I couldnt help but ate a tad of it alone. We served this with green pork chili - YUM.

Oriental Shrimp Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
A wonderful base chicken broth with a little bit of flair. Extremely easy. Tip: I made the broth with the onions, carrots and celery ahead and heated it up later for smaller portions. And I used ginger paste that I found in the salad section of my grocer. When ready to chow down - I re heated the broth with raw frozen shrimp (peeled and deveined) and afitting amount of dry noodles (3 mins in microwave) thrown in. I topped with the snowpeas (sliced) and some extras veggies (spinach and green onions for example) as toppings for xtra content and a nice crunch. This was good with or without shrimp (add chicken if you want). It's a great soup!!!

Broccoli Salad IV

Exactly what I was looking for. There seemed to be extra mayo and everything else. So I will keep extra broccoli on hand to add to the mix. There really isn't a standard size broccoli head.

Pretzel Turtles

Great recipe. VERY easy and a hit! I drizzled melted white chocolate over top. Triple the recipe and take it to a cookie exhange and parties for gifts. Also and quick item to do for last minute dessert to bring to a meeting, party or book club.

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2014
I have looked for a baked wing recipe for some time. This is it. I will say that you can do what you want with the sauce (when to apply it). You can dip before, or just basted 1/2 way, or dry. We do a combo of all whatever mood we are in. Keep them in for as long as you feel comfortable - sometimes we go longer b/c we want more well-done wings.

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
I've made this cake exact to the recipe. I get requests to make it for special occasions all the time. Today, I'm making one for my mother for Mother's day, it's the only thing she asked for. Follow the instructions. I didn't even do what other folks recommended. Just make sure you take the glaze off the burner before slowly adding the rum (which will sizzle) and stir frequently. Phenom! No fancy tricks. Just follow the recipe as stated.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Wow, this was excellent! My husband made this with a 3 lb chuck roast and kept it in for 6 hours. We served it with egg noodles and dipped french sour dough bread in the gravy. The meat was so tender and the entire dish was very flavorful. There was extra gravy left but we like a bit a gravy for any leftovers in the fridge. We might even make a french onion soup from it. Phenom! We will make this again and again.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This was a flavorful tasting basic chili recipe. We didn't drain the beans nor crushed them, and for additional liquid we added a can of chili tomato sauce (vs. water). It was a big hit.

Deviled Eggs I

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
This was my first time making deviled eggs. I used regular mustard, a pinch or two of relish, less than a tsp of white vinegar and a pinch of salt and pepper. I topped the eggs with paprika (did not mix it in the recipe). Before squeezing the filling into the egg white shells, I did a quick taste and I added a a bit more mayo (up to 1 tbsp) and mustard (1/2 tsp). They were a hit!
