Apple Turkey Potpie

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
this sounded like a good way to use up some of the leftover turkey from thanksgiving. but i didn't like it at all. i hate to waste food, but i just couldn't bring my self to finish this. if i ever did attempt to make this again i would omit the raisins and peel the apples (maybe not use them at all)

Sweet Corn Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
I absolutely LOVE this recipe! One of my favorite restaurants that used to serve something similar to this closed and i was devastated. This actually tastes just as good if not better. I loved it so much i immediately made a second batch and took it to work. Everybody there loved it as well. I found this recipe very easy to make, I didn't change a thing. I can't wait to make it again.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
This was the first lasagna I've made in 10 years. I don't like sausage so I never attempted it till I found this recipe which uses ground beef instead. I followed the recipe exactly, and it came out great. The only thing I would change for next time, is to use less meat other than that i wouldn't change a thing.

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
I love tuna and just haven't found a great casserole until now. I will definitely make this over and over again. The title of this recipe suits it well. The only thing i changed was the topping. I used crumbled Ritz crackers instead of potato chips.

Hot Shredded Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
I made this recipe last night and it came out very good. I used a store bought pre-made rotisserie chicken, and stuck it in the fridge for a day. I think this made it easier to shred the meat. Plus it was there already cooked when i decided to make this recipe.

Watermelon and Strawberry Lemonade

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
I made this the other day and it came out great. The only thing I would do different next time is strain the juice before serving. I also think this taste great with some vodka added, which I will add to the rest of the batch I made.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
This is so good. I felt like this should have some meat in it to bring it together. So I tenderized/flattened two chicken breasts, dipped them in lemon juice, then sprinkled them w/ garlic salt and ground pepper. I then grilled them on a cast iron griddle and added the chicken to the sauce once it was finished. I served the sauce over linguine. I will definately make this again. My 7yr old asked for seconds!

Summer Chicken Burgers

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
This was really good. The only thing I changed was I used swiss cheese instead of provolone and I added potabella mushrooms to the onions. I also skipped the mayo, with the avocados i didn't think it was necessary, and I didn't miss it anyway.

All-Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I followed other reviewer's advice and scaled it down to 20 servings (4 apples) and put it in the crock pot on high for an hour then left it on low overnight (about 10 hours). We enjoyed it on toast in the morning and i will definately continue to make this over and over again.

Apple Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I needed a recipe to use up some of the apples I got at the farm and I'm sooooo glad I decided to use this one. I didn't change anything and it was very easy to make. I especially liked how the ends and corner pieces were somewhat carmelized after baking

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
I made these as written and they came out great! I followed another reader recommendation and made Amy's creamy cilatro sauce to go with them which was a perfect combination. At that point I decided to make a beef and seafood version of these and make it a dipping meal. For beef I had some leftover pumpkin turkey chili (from this site) which I mixed with mexican cheese blend and wrapped them up in 10 inch tortilla's, fried them then served with caso cheese sauce. For the seafood I used imitation crab mixed with red onion, garlic, red pepper, black olives and mixed in some monterey jack cheese, then fried. i paired the crab wrap with peach mango salsa. yummm... I found that 10 inch tortilla's work better and next time I will bake these instead.
