Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: May 25, 2013
We loved it. But I did omit the salt as other reviewers suggested. I am not a big fan of dried parsley so I omitted that also. Looking forward to having this salad dressing in my fridge for salads and for marinates. Great to have a spice mix ready when I need it. Will be experimenting with different oils and vinegars. Thanks for a great recipe.

Candied Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
My family loves these carrots. I do find it easier to use baby carrots and we love the sauce thin so we can still taste the carrot.

Roasted New Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
Perfect! I used basil infused olive oil and the whole family loved them for our beautiful Easter dinner. Of course there are many changes you can make: size of potato chunks, oil, salt or spices but it is great just the way it is. I did line my pan with foil so I had an easy clean up too.

Simple Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2012
Made exactly as the recipe was written. Excellent. What a nice step up from the old standard I used to make. Can't wait until I serve these this afternoon to my husband as a nice little surprise. Love the addition of the onion and celery.

Chicken with Buttery Lemon Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
I made this as the recipe directs except for the heavy cream which I rarely have in the house. I used a milk and butter combination instead. I served it with rice and broccoli. It was good but not great. To my surprise reheated as a casserole the next evening it was fabulous! All the flavors were just popping. I will make this again rethinking when I am actually going to serve it.

Pumpkin Spice Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
My family loved this bread. I will make it again, just as the recipe is. But I will make sure to line my bread pans for easier removal. Even better the second day if it lasts that long.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
Substitute a bag of fresh spinach, microwaving for 2 minutes and squeezing liquid out. This is simple and fabulous. It is a weekend regular in our home. I bake for 15 minutes at 375 and 45 minutes at 350. Love that it just doesn't need the crust and all the extra calories.

Turkey Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Great and easy recipe. Made it again and used 2 cans of cream of celery soup and 1 1/2 cups of milk. I also added 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp thyme and 1/2 tsp of pepper. I made this in a 10" deep dish crust. My family loves the extra creaminess with the extra can of soup. Might try this in individual casseroles next time. Leftovers are good reheated also.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
After reading many recipes and reviews I decided to make this recipe using 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup shortening. I wrapped the crust and placed in fridge for 30 minutes before rolling. It rolled out beautiful. My husband, who never eats the top of the crust finished every bite on every piece of pie he ate. Works great for lemon pie and pumpkin pie. The crust is flaky and flavorful.
