This tasted fantastic, but I think I will try adding some nuts or coconut next time. I mixed cinnamon in with the whipping cream for topping, which was very tasty.

Glazed Apple Cookies

I didn't change a thing other than not having icing sugar on hand, so I skipped the icing. They were great and "tasted just like fall". They kept a long time in a sealed container as well.

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

I made these exactly as presented and they turned out perfectly. I do suggest to spend the bit extra and get the pre-shelled nuts though cause shelling all those nuts made the recipe not as enjoyable.

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

I made this with whole wheat noodles and didn't have velveeta, so just used extra cheddar. I'm sure the recipe as written would have been amazing cause ours was good, but not creamy enough for me.

We decided on the oven rather than barbque cause of the weather and maybe that was our mistake, but we didn't think the extra effort on the sauce paid off.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

I was a bit skeptical about this recipe and how simple it is, but gave it a try. They turned out super tasty and as expected, were easy to do. Served with ham they were a great addition to a nice "comfort food" type of dinner.

Black Forest Cake II

I used the cherry juice rather than the alcohol as recommended in several reviews. Otherwise followed the recipe as it is presented and it was excellent. Very moist cake and not overpowering on the cherry flavour as is sometimes the case with pie filling.

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

We couldn't find corn tortillas the night we were ready to try these, so substituted whole wheat tortillas. Same with the enchilada sauce, so used salsa. I know it wasn't as the recipe called for, but it turned out amazing!! I can't imagine what it would have been like if we had the two key ingredients. I look forward to finding out. Highly recommended.

Chinese Cabbage Salad I

I made this dressing the night before a potluck and focused more on the reviews than on the actual ingredients. In the morning, this dressing was more of a syrup than a dressing. I started over with the following recipe (just submitted) instead: 1/3 cups vegetable oil 1 tbsp vinegar 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp sugar Dry powder from soup mix Added to dressing cabbage and nuts (1/2 cup sliced almonds) just before serving. Much better than the syrup would have been.

Bone-In Ham Cooked in Beer

Easy to prepare and toss in the oven for a crowd. I was then able to focus on other dishes and visiting. Turns out moist and doesn't taste like beer. I did make sure to baste, which I would recommend so it doesn't dry out. My ham was already fully cooked when I picked it up from the butcher, so I also lowered the temperature to around 250 degrees rather than 350 and cooked for only about 4hrs.

Sunshine Morning Muesli

What a yummy change for breakfast! I now make these every so often the night before in tupperware, leave them in the fridge and they are perfect to just add the milk to in the morning. Experiment with this recipe too...very yummy with different types of fruit, different types of yogurt, etc. Lots of options for this one. Thanks for the breakfast suggestion...it's nice to start the day off with a change.

Bavarian Apple Torte

I didn't change a thing with this recipe and it turned out amazing! My only comment is on the cook time. My torte took forever to cook through and feel set. I kept checking until it felt set and it wasn't dry at all.
