Almond Apricot Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
Well, I did a bad job following the recipe. I got confused with the directons, and added everything together(not layering). It still turned out tasty, very sweet! I'd like to layer it next time, and use vanilla chips, instead of milk chocholate chips. I did that for my brothers, but in the end they wouldn't even try it. But the bright side was the neigbors, and my brother's gf loved it. And a whole group of roofers ate the rest in a couple minutes! Thanks, this was a good recipe! I will try it again sometime!

Faux Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
This was very good! The only problem or suggesion I had with this one, was not enough sauce. I understand it was just marinated, and I marinated it over night, and opoked it with a fork, but still didn't really taste the marinate through the chicken, when cut. Here's my suggestion, take twio pieces of wax paper, put on bottom and top of raw chicken. Take a hammer or mallet, and hammer on top of waxed paper, between chicken to make skinner, so marinate can go through easier. Then cobtinue with poking your fork with chicken, after taking waxed paper off. Your chicken will be well marinated over night and ready to be fried and guests to eat. Otherwise I'd susgest some kind of sause with it. My brother and gf used hot sause. I prefer enchilda sauce with it. It had a good favor!I used ginger instead of the allspice, (since I had none), pepper for cajun poweder(also had none), and extra chili poweder. It still turned out good, with the few ingredient changes, but next time I think I'd like to try it with the original ingredients. But none the lest, this recipe is a keeper! Thanks!

Cherry Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
This was the best recipe for chicken luttuce wraps! I made this recipre two times, and both times it was a success!I was told by my mom that the second time was my best!First time I used mushrooms, and a jar of asian veggies , celery, had no water chestnuts, so added cheshews for a big cruch, and big ginger chucks. The second time I omitted the mushrooms , cut up the ginger smaller,(I thought the frist time the ginger was too strong) and added celery again. I did less of the veggie ingredience, had no chashews but this time had water chestnuts. I guess in this case, less is more.

Lighter Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
These were great! The only problem was I mixed the liquids with the dry stuff the day ahead. It came out with a wet look, when I findally baked it, in the next morning. Very delious, and tasteful. I didn't have nutmeg, so I substituded a pumkin spice. I also used vanilla yogurt for lotos-intorent reasons, instead of milk, which also could've gave it that wet look.

Tropical Salad with Pineapple Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
My dad loved this salad! This is such agreat salad, because plain green salads aren't very popular at our house. But since this salad not only has meat, nuts, and coconut, it has pineapples, which makes it like a fruit salad, making it the most popular salad in the house now! I used almonds, as well as macondaias, and cooked all nuts with coconut and already fried bacon! Which the bacon turned out good, and crispy, while it starts to burn in the pan! Everything tasted great blended together, and the sauce was great with the salad! Thank you for this recipe!

Artichoke and Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
This was great! I got lots of compliements on this by making it one of the reviewers mentioned, making it a pasta chicken sun- dried tomato dish. I added pine nuts, a little bit of garlic to make it more italian. The only thing I'd change would be the sun-dried tomatoes. Here in Germany they came in a plastic package already salted, and were too salty. So next time I'd probably rinse them with water and dry them with a paper towel. Other that that, perfect! Thnks for the recipe and improvements!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
This turned out great! I learned out to cut a whole chicken. Then I made the sauce, using 1 cup of honey 9i thought was the perfect solution for the not enough honet problem people have been referring too. I figured two cups would be too much. I added already cut adried onions, and alrewady minced garlic gloves, 1/4 water, some vegtable flakes, almost 1 cup of spicy mustard. (I was running out), and 2 tablesppons of curry powder. It turned out perfectly! Poured over the chicken, and let it bake under foil, as suggested. What I recommend with the chicken is rice. A good way to do it is add french onion soup, I used brown rice, and like 1/2 cup of water. I turned out good, if only I didn't burn it! Remember keeop an eye on your rice, and stir continuly! Honey chicken sauce taste good with rice! Thanks for thev recipe! It was delious!

Reuben Sandwich I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
It turned out good! I made two different kinds. I was making food for my parents and me, my mom's lotos-intolent, so I made hers with hot mustard, and just a little chese. I made the others with more chese, i picked gouda, which turned out delious with the sandwhich. I also used apple sauerkaaynt, with garlic yogurt dressing, instead of thousand island, because I didn't have any. I used both corn beef and pastrami, three slics each, and sliced them in half ,in triangles. AAfter using on a skill, I baked in the oven. What I'd change next time less gouda, less sauerkraunt, maybe I'd still use apple, but use yogurt sauce with no garlic. Well, other than that, it was perfect! Thanks!

Delicious Apple Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2008
This was the firsttime I ever made apple sauce! I used three small apples, peeled, and chopped them. However i had a hard time cutting them smaller, but having some kind of grinder, so I useda spoon first, then decided to use a fork. With the fork I Pushed hard dowbn in it, and cut diffrerent ways. However it was hard cutting in a bowl, so I put in on a cutting board, and would scrap the apple pieces with the fork to make them smaller. I put in back in the bowl. I used 1/4 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of cinamon, and 1/2 cup brown sugar, then i boiled it on the burner. Since I used the burner I ended up with trhe right amount of water. However I might want to warn you that if you haven't done this before the cinamon can turn your applesauce really brown. Mine was that color. It was a great recipe! Thanks!

Chicken Salad Croissants

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
This was a really good idesa! My mom said it turned out all blended together. I used three raw breasts of chicken(sauted in pan, and cut the chuewy fat parts out), only three crossiants, cut dill pickles and added two sliced hard boiled eggs(sliced w/an egg slicer), and used mircle wip, instead of maninease. It was great, however next time if i decided to still use swiss, I'd try to seperate, even with more chicken and less swiss instructed, i ewnded up with too much swiss in mine. Maybe next time I'll try new kind of chese, or two.

BBQ Chicken Calzones

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
Was pretty good! I learned the hard way howevwe that with the pizza dough, NEVER take a piece of it out, (even if its dirty), cause when you open it all the way up, there's was a big hole in it. Thats just so u know, other that that I think next time I will stick more with the actual recipe, and use mozarella chese.

Enchilada Casserole III

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
Exellant! This is the first main dish I made all by self, and it turned out great! I used about half a bag of both of shreded Gouda and Edamer, instead of the other cheses. I also used a can of Mexican corn and beans and a can of big purple beans. I used their juice and added it to the paste, and only added a little bit of water. I also had chili mix, instead of enchilida mix. And I forgot to add the onion powder, although the chili mix was strong engongh that I believe it made up for it. All it all, it was delious, and the mistakes turned out for my bemifit. If I added the onion powder it probably would've been too spicy. i ate the left overs willingly!

I used alvaco instead of sourcream, added 1 can of mexiacan beans and corn, and only had 1 can of plain corn. Then I had a 1 can of big purple beans. I like to add the juice of the beans for falvor. For cheese i used a bag of shreded cheses two kinds. Other that that I think thats all the cratitivity I used for this one. It turned out very good! I even ate the left overs!
