Sauza®-Rita

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
Since I have discovered using Limeade for Margarita I love it. But I do mine a little different and its Great!! Sorry I don't not like beer - so with my changes I give it 5+ stars. - I use the full can of limeade, then 1/2 can of water; 1/2 can of tequila; and 1/2 can of triple sec. Mix well and pour over ice; serve with a lime on the side. - Then to make it extra special I add one shot of ameratto into each glass. AWESOME!!! - of course you can use more or less tequila depending on individual taste. Also a good subsitute for triple is Grand Gala - its a notch up from tripe sec without being too expensive - ENJOY!!!

Chicken Avocado Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
Made for dinner last night and loved it. I made the avacado mix and added extra cilantro; extra fresh lime juice and garlic. I chopped the chicken then diced the tomatoes and used the Spicy Monterey Jack Cheese. I also purchased a premade thin pizza pie crust. Husband loved it too. Next time I will use more tomatoes. Will make again!!!! Very fast to make especially if you have leftover chicken. - Thanks.

Basic Margarita

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
I use the same ingregents but different portions. I use 1 can (12 oz) limeaid; then just use the limeaid can and use 1/2 can water; 1/2- to 3/4 can tequila (depending on how strong you want it); 1/2 can triple sec and mix well. Then just pour over ice for an 'on-the-rocks' drink. If you want to make this really extra special - to each glass add a shot of ammerento (sp) - WOW this is super. If you want it frozen leave out the water, mix in blender and add ice.

California Roll Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2010
This was SOOOO good. I surprised my husband with it last night and when I brought it to him, he says 'WOW whats this - this smells like Sakora's (sp?)'. We loved it. I did not use the lettuce, but did put in about three leafs of shredded romaine; added two crumbled seaweed rolls, lots of toasted sesame seeds, and grated ginger. I also doubled the sauce, but did not use as much vinegar as called for. I did not have the powder and used a Wasabi Sauce I had, but it needed more hotness, so then we both individually added more real wasabi and a little salt to bring out all the flavors. Without the lettuce, it will not feed 6 more like 3 or 4 small eaters; so just be careful if you do not add the lettuce - allow for less servings. I would add more rice, just to make it stretch for more servings. But the flavor was wonderful. I had a very small bowl left over for lunch today and it was good. I think that without lettuce it was fine to serve the next day. Thank You for ths great recipe.

Sausage Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
Been making these for years they are always great; and a big hit at parties. You do not need to cook the sausage first, it cooks in the oven when you bake them. Like others say, use hot sausage and sharp cheese. I even add more red pepper flakes. YUMMY!!!

Crispy Chipotle Lime Tilapia with Cool Avocado Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
OK, I made this several times since my first try and I still love it; and you have to try it. But just have to tell you a funny stroy - the first time I made it I read the directions wrong and used the whole can of peppers - no wonder it was so hot. But now I did as some one else recommended and freeze them in two tablespoon increments and then when I make it the peppers are ready. ORIGINAL RATING: I saw this recipe and really liked ihow it looked; and then went home last night and made it and am in love. The sauce its GREAT and is not suppose to be like guacamole its a wonderful dressing that really goes nice with the 'hot' spices; a great complement to the dish. The only thing I did different was to add cilantro to the dressing and its great. I have told several people about it already this morning. I WILL make it again. Thanks a lot. PS - I also cooked up the rice from Chipotle's to go with it. Great dinner, if you like spicy you will love it. Just sorry I forgot to make Margarita's it was late when I got home and totally forgot. Its quick and easy to make after a long day at work. : - }

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
I just have to say we loved this. Made it exactly as written while being snowed inside during the Blizzard of 2010 in Southern Maryland. It had a nice and rich chocolate flavor - justed used a little less sugar. We also had Almond Syrup that went really good with it. Thanks lots.

Peanut Butter and Banana French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
While snowed in this weekend in DC I made this for my husband and myself. We LOVED it. I did not measure just put a coating of PB on the bread and sliced the banana thin, the long way till it covered the bread. I also added a little cinnamon and sugar mix to the egg and also sprinkled some on the banana. I then put about four small round slices of banana on top and then some 'sifted' conf. sugar on top to dress it up. Will definitely make again. Thanks.

Margaritas

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
I have been making this for a while now and everyone loves it. However recently we went to an Italian Rest.; and had an Italian Margarita and now have changed it a little. What I now do is use the can of limeade; then use 1/2 can water; 1/2 can - ok - maybe a little more of tequila; almost 1/2 a can of triple sec or a good Orange liquire; then I mix in a blender with no ice. Pour into a salt rimmed glass over ice; and then add 1 shot of Ameratto to the glass. WOW- it sure does knock it up a noch and is super good. Thanks so much for this recipe. - PS - you can use Kosher Salt instead of 'Margarita Salt' its easier to find and cheaper.

Spicy Shredded Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
This is a GREAT start-up for any mexician dish; you can also use chicken instead. I also add other mexician spices; chilli powder, garlic, and then make chimmi's out of it. You can also cook up in a crock pot. Really, really good.

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
UPDATE: I have made this tons of times since my earlier rating and found that you MUST you a GOOD Brand of Hollandaise Sauce Mix - KNORR's. I have used other brands and it completel changed the taste and I did not like it as much. -- Original Rating: This is so WONDERFUL!! and THE BEST Crab Soup ever!!! I used everything that it called for, including all the Old Bay; but I too am from Maryland and like spicy. I froze some to see how it would turn out and it was just as good when I heated in the microwave. I use to buy a really good famous resturant brand of frozen Cream of Crab Soup, now I will make this over and over; and freeze it and take to work on cold days. Thanks, Karyn. Its the best!!!
