About this Cook
Been married to a wonderful husband and father for 35 years. Loves to travel, cook, be with family and friends. Very involved in my religious activities. Love going to the Outer Banks every summer - where I have tried many of my new recies. My two kids are grown and out of the house - one moved to souther California and the other lives very near me. Would love to retire to the beach in NC; but now its hard since my kids are scattered. No grandkids so no pull there.....who knows. Hope to retire in a couple of years. e-mail -
My favorite things to cook
Itailian and Mexician. Love trying new recipes - I especially love going out to dinner and then trying to create the same dish at home. I love this site, and gotten lots of recipes here. Its GREAT!! Love making meals, salad, desserts. I have a great collection - my family says I spoil them for almost any restruranent since I cook so good. (can't spell but can really cook) Best things are my Family/Friends FAMOUS Lasagana and then spagatti and also my great meatballs. I can make alot of mexician; a GREAT Maragarita.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Me creating new recipes epecially from resturants.
My cooking triumphs
I guess the best time was when we had gone to Carabbas and my husband ordered a sausage red sauce dish and loved it, then the next time we went they stopped making it. But the girl knew which dish it was. She got the chief to make it and then I got the name of the dish and found it on the web. Several weeks later when he asked whats for dinner, I said I had a surprise for him. After eating it and saying over and over how wonderful it was, he said was - this is so good I would order this in a resturant. Then when I told him what it was - he said - oh WOW - well this is better than theirs.
My cooking tragedies
Right after we were married - 1975 - I tried a new recipe using a pressure cooker. I did not know that you had to brown the chicken first. Needless to say it looked horrible. We could not get past that part and ended up just going out. We still laught about it till today.

Mom's Warm Milk
I thought I wrote a review on this the frist time I tried it, and see that i didn't. It really is nice. It gives you a warm feeling that helps you sleep better. I add a little cinnamon and vanilla to mine and love it. thanks a lot.

Spicy Chinese Chicken Wings
The flavor and taste of these were wonderful. We will defintly make again. I did mine a little different. I really wanted to try this but only had chicken tenders so used that instead of wing. I marinated them for about 4-5 hours; then took out of the marinate and coated lightly in flour and fried them up. Super good and so easy. We love General Tso; its nice and crispy so wanted to get the same effect. My husband could not stop saying how much he liked the taste and flavor that were in these. Served with homemade shrimp fried rice. Great combo. Thanks

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff
This was so tasty and easy to make it. Threw it in the crock pot yesterday AM; then added the soup , cream cheese; and added some milk to make it the right consistancy. Served over noodles. Yummy. One thing was - did not have the Dressing; but really wanted to make this. So I went to this site and search and found the 'Italian Dressing Mix' cut it in half and used that recipe. I did not use the salt and was not needed. Will make again.
