Portuguese Sweet Bread I

I love making bread in my bread machine, and this bread came out just about as perfect as a bread machine loaf can get. I followed the instructions exactly as printed using the 1.5 pound loaf setting because the directions didn't specify, and typically breads using three cups of flour are 1.5 pounds. It filled the entire bread pan without overflowing. My whole family LOVED it, thought it was the best loaf they ever tasted.

Oatmeal Craisin Cookies

Delicious! I used all craisins instead of adding raisins and threw in a cup or so of white chocolate chips. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Mine seemed a little too crispy at 12 minutes, so I took them out just a wee bit sooner. Also, I came up with about 6 1/2 dozen cookies altogether, each cookie about 2 1/2 - 3 inches after baking, so I got way more cookies than the four dozen that the recipe states.

Zucchini Brownies

Brownies were exceptionally moist, tasted really good. Frosting was ok, nothing exceptional about it. I was really worried with the "batter" until I added the zucchini because I thought there was no way the zucchini was going to add enough moisture to make the batter able to be poured, but it was like magic! The brownies looked awesome right out of the oven. I wouldn't make these brownies just as my regular brownie recipe, but if you have extra zucchini give them a try.

Eclair Cake

Fast, easy, delicious! I followed the recipe exactly except for slightly melting the chocolate frosting to make it easier to spread, and everyone loved it - even a few people who said they hate eclairs. I didn't think it tasted like an eclair at all, but it certainly did look like one. I made it on Saturday for a party Sunday, and then ate leftovers on Monday - I thought it tasted even better on Monday. Going to make this again this weekend for a church dinner.

Herman Reunion Cheese Ball

I have made this recipe twice now, once exactly as written and once using mozzarella and parmesan cheese instead of the cheddar. The first time it was ok, but looked very similar to another cheese ball I had made for the same party. The other one was completely gone, and about half of this was eaten during the party. Next time I used the other cheeses, and I added more worcestershire and hot sauce, and I liked it much better. My husband ate half of it in one sitting. Still not as good as my old standby recipe, but definitely pretty good.

White Bread For The Bread Machine

The first loaf from my bread machine that turned out with a nice soft crust!! I used olive oil instead of veg oil and threw in about 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese because my husband adds cheese to everything. It was delicious!!!

Mexican Lasagna Chip Dip

This recipe was good, but I thought it needed a bit more flavor. When I reheated the leftovers I added more salsa, and I liked it much more. Also, I thought that the cream cheese didn't really add to it at all, and it didn't melt very well in the amount of time that I had it in the oven, even after allowing it to bake longer than suggested. Everyone else who ate it loved it as is, though, so maybe it just wasn't for me.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

I have been making this for the last several years exactly as the recipe is listed. EVERYONE loves them, even people who don't like sweet potatoes. It's the one thing that I'm asked to bring to holiday dinners time and time again.
