Concord Grape Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2012
I only added a pinch of cornstarch to the ingredients and 1/2 cup sugar, didn't change anything else. Now the grape pealing, I started pinching them like one reviewer suggested, I couldn't seem to get the hang of it. Next I decided to just leave the skins on. I cut the grapes lengthwise then mashed a few per the directions. I used seedless super dark purple grapes, (don't know the proper name) It turned out FANTASTIC!!! Saved tons of time and tasted heavenly, filing this under quick easy pies everyone loves, will be making during the holidays!

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
I used 1lb ground pork and seasoned it with 1 tablespoon of veg oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper and adobo since I didn't have pork sausage. I also used mexican cheese mix instead of parm. They were still incredible! I put them out as an appetizer for Thanksgiving and they were gone before all the guests got here! It made more mixture than peppers, so next time I will use the same amount of mixture with a mix of jalapenos and long peppers! The heat was not an issue for anyone. I cleaned them well and baked for the recommened time and they were not too hot for anyone!

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
The best turkey I have ever eaten, and the only turkey I have made! I used "turkey brine" from this site and followed the rest of this recipe. I had a 21lb bird and brined it for 24hrs. I let it rest after a good rinse for 3hrs in the morning, then roasted it at 500degrees for 20min and lowered the temp to 350 for the rest of the roast. It was done sooner than expected, only 3 1/2 hrs into cooking. I will prepare for the bird to be done sooner next time, since I will be able to sleep longer!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
Great first time pot pie recipe! I used rotissierie chicken, boiled 1 potato in the chicken broth, used 1/2 bag of frozen veggies instead of carrots and peas, and added mushrooms right after onions in butter. It was delicious! Husband said it was the best pot pie he ever had!
