Best Baked French Fries

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2013
These were good and easy. My kiddo preferred them this way over my typical frying method. That's fine with me, this is a much easier clean up!

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
Ahhhhhmazing. My kids didn't love it because they're traditionalists with their pancakes, but I thought it was fantastic and great for a change up on our morning pancakes.

I am not a fan of cooked carrots at all, but I love these!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
These are great. I've made them using ground beef and ground turkey. Both work well with the fabulous favors in this dish. Will definitely be making again.

Chef John's Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2013
Really good and easy recipe. I made a couple of small changes by adding some chopped tomato, used chicken breasts that I seasoned, and broth instead of water. My only complaint is that the gravy is very watery. I may try to thicken it up some next time. I'll be making this again. It was perfect over angel hair.

Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
This was really good, but I will definitely cut the sugar in half next time. It was a little sweet for our taste.

Kielbasa Made Easy

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
I definitely left mine in the slow cooker too long, but they weren't done after an hour. I'll try it again and keep a better eye on it.

Tangy Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
Made it exactly as written. It was okay. Probably will not make it again. I think it would be better if the instructions didn't call for nuking the cauliflower

Bachelor's Creamy Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
This was pretty good. Now, I wouldn't run out and buy the ingredients JUST to make this soup, but for a good soup on a cold night, this is perfect. I used chicken broth instead of water and used fresh garlic and ginger. This is simple and uses ingredients that I keep on hand so we'll be making this one again. Though I'm hoping that we'll be done with cold weather soon!!!

Boston Brown Bread III

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This is a good bread, it's a little sweeter than I wanted it to be, but the flavor is still very tasty. Though I'll keep looking for the "perfect" brown bread recipe.

Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This was okay, but needs a little tweaking. After reading some of the other reviews I added a clove of garlic and sauteed some onions in with the celery and carrots. My youngest one likes it, so we'll probably make it again.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
I made these exactly as written. I was expecting an over-the-top brownie with the high ratings that this recipe has. The texture is great, but they are way too salty for us. I will not be making this recipe again.

Lime Cilantro Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
This is really good. I cook the rice in chicken broth to add flavor. Sometimes, I will also toss in about a tsp of cumin.

We used much much less cayenne and white pepper. And medium shrimp since that's what I had in the freezer. It was soooo good!!!! We will definitely be making this again. Sooo very tasty.

Crescent Pizza Pockets

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
These were tasty, but I had a difficult time with the dough. I think maybe the crescent sheets would work better with this recipe. I attempted to fold diagonally, but just made a huge mess and ended up just folding them in half - much easier.

Chinese Eggplant Fries

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
These were okay. I wouldn't go out to buy another eggplant just to make them, but if I got another eggplant in my bountiful baskets, I would make them again. I added garlic powder and onion powder to the flour/cornmeal mix.

Grandma's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
This was fabulous as is! Mine cooked longer than 60 minutes in a 9X13 - probably closer to 75 minutes. This will be my new go-to banana bread recipe. Next time, I'm going to try using 2 cups sugar and 1 cup brown sugar.
