Blueberry Streusel Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2014
I made this 2 times in 2 days, and doubled it each time when I had family staying with us for my son's high school graduation. We couldn't get enough of it. The 2nd time I reduced the lemon peel by 1/2 and added vanilla. I'll make this again the next time I have blueberries to use up.

Avocado and Feta Bruschetta

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2014
This was nominated but not selected for recipe group on the buzz. It looked so good I had to try it. The only change I made was to add the garlic to the oil before baking. This was really tasty and I will be making it again.

This is a great recipe for use as a light main dish or a side dish. We made no changes, it's perfect as-is and will certainly make it again!

Smoky Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2014
These simple ingredients pack in a lot of taste, however we did find the spices overpowering to the pork. Next time, I think I'll use less of the rub on each chop. We used 3/4" thick boneless pork loin chops instead of bone in. Also, I'll not mix the wet and dry rub ingredients. It turned into a messy paste that was difficult to massage onto the pork.

Strawberry Cake II

Reviewed: May 16, 2014
This review is for the cake only. This was a really tasty strawberry cake. We used a vanilla buttercream for the frosting and used a cream cheese filling in between the layers. I only had enough batter for 2 9" layers and ended up making an additional batch for the 3rd layer. Delicious!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew Al la Catherine

Reviewed: May 16, 2014
My family enjoyed this. I only used 1/2 a package of the onion soup mix and used 2 cans of tomato sauce instead of tomato soup - also added some beef bouillon to the water for more flavor. We will make this again.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2014
Made as written with a medium grain rice and I left out the raisins. I really liked it. My BF loves rice pudding but I don't recall ever having it before. I guess I am one of the few that wants to add sugar to this one. We topped ours off with cinnamon and whipped cream.

Swanson® Sensational Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
This recipe was full of flavor, especially considering the few ingredients. The 2nd time I made it, I added garlic, some onion, and a small amount of fresh thyme. Delicious!

Stuffed Peppers My Way

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2014
This was really tasty and easy for stuffed peppers. I browned the onion with the hamburger meat and added garlic. I used a cup of beef broth instead of 1/2 cup of water and doubled the Worcestershire. I used fresh tomatoes instead of canned tomatoes; tomato sauce instead of tomato soup and used mozzarella since I was out of cheddar. I will certainly be making this again, with my changes.

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2014
These were really tasty. I used olive oil instead of butter for a healthier fat and omitted the salt. When the pork chops were finished cooking, I removed them from the liquid and added in a couple of tablespoons of corn starch. I let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened for a yummy sauce and served it all over a bed of rice.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2014
These were delicious. We grilled some corn on the cob and used that instead of frozen. We skipped the spinach (didn't have any on hand) and didn't freeze them. We also baked them in the oven instead of frying in oil. We will definitely make these again.

Blackened Tilapia with Secret Hobo Spices

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2014
This is tasty, even my kids like it. We reduce the cayenne, but otherwise, perfect as is. Like others, we don't get any "pan juices" so we omit the bread. It's nummy anyway.
