About Kimberly Dyson-Rose:
When I was a teenager I had to learn how to fend for myself for basically all my meals. It was my job to do the food shopping and feed myself, so I've had a couple years practice now.
I wasn't very good at the start, basically just cooking myself up tacos, pasta, or stir fries all of the time. Using prepackaged foods as staples to make a full meal. I've gotten much more experimental and I'm not excited by the thought of fresh foods and creating my own flavours.
I'm a chicken eater, so I love to try new recipes to change things up. I also really enjoy taking new spins on old recipes and dishes. Although I've had practice, I'm not always the most creative or innovative. It feels good to walk into a kitchen and just pull together a full meal with little or no planning.
I'm excited to pull together my own recipe booklet of dishes I will someday serve a family of my own.
