Daddy's Popcorn

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Great, but i prefer butter. but take care, butter burns faster then margarine. As for a paper grocery bag, I haven't seen one of those in years... LOL. A paper towel lined bowl works fine.

Cinnamon Spice Drop Cookies

Great cookies. Made 10 dozen with a 1 TBSP cookie scoop. Next time I'd halve it. I made no substitutions and loved them.

Emily's Famous Chocolate Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
After all the mixed reviews i decided to still give these a shot. They were great, not too sweet, but I liked that. The dough was so easy to work with and my cookies were sturdy. People who complained need a little lesson in cookie making i think. A shortbread cookie should never be rolled too thin. And I always roll cookies between 2 pieces of parchment paper, then i chilled the flattened dough and cut the cookies and bake. And you really can't over bake them. As soon as the tops were no longer glistening I took them out of the oven. then i drizzled some melted chocolate over the tops. Beauty!

Autumn Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
Great! I made some changes according to what I had in my pantry, and they were great! I doubled the nutmeg, because I love nutmeg. I used golden crisco instead of butter because I had a lot of it on hand, and it was great, just make sure when you are adding it melted to the milk that the milk is not too cold or else it will start to solidify. I added 1 1/2 cups of frozen fresh cranberries, this added a nide fresh tartness. I grated the apple because I don't like big chunks of apple in muffins. I used chopped dried dates instaed of the figs. I used walnuts because that was all I had. I also found it to fill 24 muffin cups to the top, they didn't rise a lot, but they were still fluffy. A lot of possibilities with this recipe!

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
any recipe that has to be changed so much to make it work doesn't deserve a good rating. It needs to be scaled down to fit in a pan this size, and spiced up!

Eggnog Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
5 stars as long as you add more eggnog. I don't see how this recipe can be made as is, the batter turns out like dough!

Frying Pan Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
I have made these cookies every christmas for almost 20 years. I roll them in shredded coconut, press a thumbprint in them to hold a slice of red and green candied cherry. They look very beautiful like that on the christmas cookie platter

Carrot Soup

Easy to make, could use less butter to make it lighter. I added one extra clove of garlic.
