Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Nice and light results. The only thing is they didn't get very crisp as other waffles I have made. I will definitely make again, though.

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Awesome! I followed the recipe exactly except I added more cinnamon to my taste. So much nicer than the overly sweet store bought stuff. This is a definite keeper and will be used often in my home.

Chewy Crispy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2010
YUMMY!!! Definitely going to be one of my favorite cookies. You can taste the salt, so adjust to your liking. I cut the amount of salt in half and I thought it was perfect. The only other changes I made was simply the addition of white chocolate chips, as others have suggested, and I did use Rice Crispies instead of cornflakes. I will try toasting the coconut next time just to see if I like it any more than I already do. THX Melissa for the recipe!

Naan

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
YUUUMMMMMM!!!!!!!!! I followed the recipe exactly. I have made it twice in the past 2 weeks and will be making every time I make my new favorite dish on this site, Chicken Jalfrezi. I'm new to Indian cuisine, but this recipe and the Jalfrezi recipe have got me wanting to try more! Thanks Mic for posting this!

Chicken Jalfrezi

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
HOLY SHMANOLY!!!! This stuff is definitely on the top of my favorites list. I have never had Indian food before, but I kept seeing this recipe referenced in reviews I was reading for another recipe (cucumber riata) and I got curious. I did change a few things, some based on reviews I read here-added green peppers, mushrooms, chicken flavor Better Than Bouillon-I used diced chicken breast (personal preference) and I added 1/3 cup of heavy cream (just to add a little more creamy consistency). I also followed anothers suggestion to cook the spices in oil first. The end result was SCRUMPTIOUS!!! I served it over the Indian Style Basmati Rice on this site and made homemade Naan (also from this site). Oh...I almost forgot, I also added more tomatoes and a can of tomato paste. I guess I did change it quite a bit, huh? Oh well...I loved it and so did my hubby so at the least it was a great base recipe for me! Thanks Alia for the recipe!!!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
Well...I followed the recipe exactly except I added cinnamon and vanilla to the batter. These were OK, but I was very disappointed considering the reviews. I will try again with some tried-and-true additions that I think will end in a muffin that is more to my liking. I like to try recipes without changing much first, though. If I like the result of the changes I make, I will post them later.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
Hands down the best sugar cookie recipe I have found. The only thing I added is that I rolled the dough balls in sugar before baking. Perfect sweetness and texture. I am finally done looking for a sugar cookie recipe that isn't intended to be iced. Thanks, Pam, for sharing!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
This recipe obviously doesn't really need to be reviewed again, but I wanted to let anyone know who is worried about some of the reviews that stated that the frosting is too runny and wouldn't pipe, that they shouldn't be concerned. I'm not sure what mistake those who had problems made, but it certainly isn't the recipe. I made it as stated with NO changes and it is perfect, would absolutely pipe, and tastes fantastic. Obviously with it calling for real whipped cream, this isn't an icing that can stand up to being at room temperature very long, but that's an easy trade off for me so I can enjoy real whipped cream instead of the store bought kind that has to use partially hydrogenated oil to be able to stand up to warmer temps. This is an excellent icing. It's got a wonderful texture and is just sweet enough. It is a great icing to use for cakes that are already very sweet on their own. It will be my "go to" white frosting anytime I don't need to have a cake that will be sitting out for a long period of time. If the kind of icing you need is one that you want to be able to sit out on the counter all the time, then you need to stick with a buttercream frosting. Make sure you use a high quality whipping cream. I have found that the cheaper ones, in fact, don't hold their "whip" as well over time (also make sure it is very cold). I also refrigerated my frosting over night so the cream cheese could get cold again and help with the frosting not being too thin. Hope this helps some!

Thanksgiving Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
I just finieshed making this and I loved the flavor of this cheese ball. I did omit the olives though because don't care for them. I also chilled it for about 2 hours and it was very easy to make into a ball after that. I can't wait to see how my family like it on Thanksgiving!Definitely a keeper!!!

Mini Butter Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
This is the first time I have rated a recipe, and I am doing it because these little biscuits a really great! What an incredibly easy and tasty treat. My husband also liked them just as much as I did. I wanted to make them for Thanksgiving, so I went ahead and made them today and froze them until then. I will post another review after Thanksgiving to let everyone know how it went freezing and then reheating them. I did follow the recipe exactly. I think I will try adding a little cheese and diced ham sometime to test if they will hold together. Anyway, Thanks so much for posting this great recipe!!
