About this Cook
I enjoy cooking and love to share food with people, although coming up with dinner plans every single night isn't that easy. I find it easier to make weekly meal plans of my family's favourite dishes; not only does it help us budget, but then the plan is all set and all I have to do is cook!
My favorite things to cook
Anything that doesn't make a load of dishes. One pot/dish meals are my favourites that way I can spend more time with my son.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies- I can't wait until my son is old enough to make cookies with me for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made Thanksgiving dinner for my husband's family- it was their first Thanksgiving and they loved every single bite. I've shared the meal I made in my meal ideas.

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie
Wow! I haven't had such a tasty pie in a long time. The recipe is so simple all you can taste is the fruit. I took Alessandra's advice and I will be making this pie again if my rhubarb crop grows vigorously enough before strawberry season finishes.

Turkey Tetrazzini II
very popular with the family, an easy way to get rid of leftovers. I mixed ham and turkey and what a treat!

Betty's Green Tomato Chutney
this was too runny for my liking, so I took a good portion of the liquid off the top before canning and bottled it as a sweet and sour sauce. Turns out that the sweet and sour sauce was the most popular part in my household. However, friends who I shared the chutney with did like it and are hoping I'll make it again if this year's tomato crop doesn't get the chance to ripen before frosts set in.
