I enjoy cooking and love to share food with people, although coming up with dinner plans every single night isn't that easy. I find it easier to make weekly meal plans of my family's favourite dishes; not only does it help us budget, but then the plan is all set and all I have to do is cook!
My favorite things to cook
Anything that doesn't make a load of dishes. One pot/dish meals are my favourites that way I can spend more time with my son.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies- I can't wait until my son is old enough to make cookies with me for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made Thanksgiving dinner for my husband's family- it was their first Thanksgiving and they loved every single bite. I've shared the meal I made in my meal ideas.

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie
Wow! I haven't had such a tasty pie in a long time. The recipe is so simple all you can taste is the fruit. I took Alessandra's advice and I will be making this pie again if my rhubarb crop grows vigorously enough before strawberry season finishes.

Betty's Green Tomato Chutney
this was too runny for my liking, so I took a good portion of the liquid off the top before canning and bottled it as a sweet and sour sauce. Turns out that the sweet and sour sauce was the most popular part in my household. However, friends who I shared the chutney with did like it and are hoping I'll make it again if this year's tomato crop doesn't get the chance to ripen before frosts set in.
