Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
This is a great recipe when you need to whip up a simple cake and don't have much time. It is moist and delicious and i have used it to make everything from cupcakes to a three layer strawberry cake.

Fried Rice with Cilantro

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
I LOVE this recipe. the sauce is so easy yet very flavorful and the entire dish is incredibly versatile. I have made this with different combination's of chicken, pork, egg, and shrimp as well as used a ton of different veggies. My favorite combination so far is chicken and shrimp along with diced bell pepper, jalapeno, and onion. A must try!

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
These turned out picture perfect and were quite tasty; though a little too sweet. I made the recipe exactly as called for except instead of using all butter I used half butter and half plain yogurt. I will definitely make them again but reduce the sugar by 1/4 to 1/2 a cup.

Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
These were the most flavor-full fish tacos that i've ever eaten. I made the sauce with just the sour cream and adobo plus a little salt and it complemented the fish perfectly.

Michell Jenny's Challah

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
I love this bread. I have made it at least a half dozen times exactly as written with incredible results. I thought it would make an excellent savory bread so I kneaded in a 1/3 cup of diced pickled jalapeno and about 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. I also substituted white sugar for the honey. The result was a light yet rich loaf with the heat of jalapenos and the tang of cheddar cheese. Definitely a keeper

Fudge Puddles

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
These are good, but very rich. They are also little time consuming to make as you have to maintain the filling at a warm temperature to aid pouring, but still worth the extra effort.

Una's Cheddar Beer Bread (bread machine dough cycle)

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
This bread has a nice light texture and really good flavor. The next time I make it though i'm going to halve the amount of cayenne and black pepper in the recipe. I like spicy food but the amount of pepper in this recipe threw the other flavors off balance and made it taste more like a pepper bread than a cheese one.

Moist Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
These are excellent. I thought the amount of sauce was perfect; just enough to thinly cover the bottom of a 9X13 baking dish. When you cook them the sauce bubbles up and bottom 1/3 of every roll is glazed up the side. Based on personal preference i reduced the sugar sprinkled on top and then rolled into the bread to 1/4 cup, reduced the raisins to 1/4 cup, and did not add nuts to the inside. This resulted in a perfectly balanced bread that was complemented by the much sweeter toping.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Excellent cookies! I refrigerated the dough for an hour before rolling it out and cutting into shapes. These flew out of the cookie jar which I found super impressive given that my family is more of the chocolate cookie loving type.

Monster Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
These are the best peanut butter cookies I have ever made! I added peanut butter m & m's to the batter and they tasted great. I thought the absence of flour and the abundance of oatmeal would make for a tough texture but I was so wrong. They came out chewy on the inside and just a tad crunchy on the exterior.

Sweet Corn Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
Delicious! I used 1/3 cup sugar, reduced the butter to 2 tablespoons, added 2 tablespoons sour cream and a cup of frozen corn. I served it with honey mustard chicken from this site and it made for a splendid combination. I think this recipe would work well with add ins too and depending on what you plan to serve it with you might consider green chilles, bacon, or cheddar cheese.

Light as a feather and sooo moist! I added the zest of one lemon for a little extra zing and I sprinkled pearlized sugar on the top for sparkle. It was pretty and delicious : )

Country Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
This was good but I think next time I will just mix the cinnamon into the batter to get the cinnamon flavor through out. I reduced the sugar for a 1/4 and swapped applesauce for butter. Also I think i'll add in raisins next time for extra moisture.

Hot and Sour Chinese Eggplant

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
This was ok the first time a made it but the recipe had potential so i made it again last night with a few changes. The soy sauce has a high enough salt content to make the additional salt in the recipe overkill so I left it out. I also tossed in an extra half tablespoon sugar and a clove of garlic. To make a complete meal I added in a green bell pepper, a white onion, and a diced chicken breast. Ta-da! in house take out.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie II

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
This was really good, my boyfriend could hardly keep his hands off it. I made my own oreo crust and used sugar free instant pudding to lighten it up a little and no one was the wiser. It's a definitely a keeper.
