Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
Very easy and turned out amazing! I used marshmallow creme as suggested by another member and it was so incredible I will be using again. I would suggest that people use gel food coloring though, as I had a hard time with my liquid food coloring squirting out when I was kneading it in.

Very good; I think next time I will add a little more lemon.

Braided Easter Egg Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
I rarely rate a recipe this low but I can't think of anything about it that turned out right except that the eggs looked pretty. I've made breads before and I followed the recipe exactly, and the dough was incredibly sticky, the braid was very difficult to make and looked like a big circle not a twist. If it had at least tasted good I would've been OK with the way it looked, but it was horrible. Not sure what went wrong.

French Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
I think I need to work at this a little more; my loaves turned out tastey but they stuck to the sheet pan even with the cornmeal. They were also a little skinny, didn't rise very much. Overall I would recommend this recipe but I may have to tinker with it a bit.

Dessertlover's Classic Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
Delicious! I let it cook for about 12-13 minutes in the initial cooking process (sugar, water, butter); it wasn't quite as dark as I expected but I didn't want to burn it. Also, when it cooked in the second round I cooked it the full 10 minutes, and it did seem quite thin, which I had read in some reviews. However, after letting it cool and set in the fridge it thickened up just fine. As I mentioned, it was a little pale, but it tasted amazing so I don't think I'd change a thing!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
I made this in three 9" round cake pans; it took about 25 minutes to bake. It was moist, flavorful and just dense enough to hold up to the cream cheese frosting. We will definitely be making this again!

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Very good; I was a little worried when the crackers started moving as I poured the caramel over but it worked out just fine.

Cream Cheese Snowball Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
These were SO GOOD! I used all butter (no shortening) and they came out great; the cream cheese flavor isn't too strong but definitely gives the cookies a nice flavor and texture. I would recommend letting them cool about 4-5 minutes before rolling in the powdered sugar or they get sticky. I stored mine in a big ziploc bag with the remaining powdered sugar and they kept very well.

Cranberry Fruit Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
Really good; I made some ice cubes out of both the pineapple and cranberry juices. I can't give it 5 stars because I felt like the ginger ale made it taste just slightly off; I will probably use seltzer next time or maybe lemon-lime soda.

Mini Cheesecakes II

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I found that the nilla wafers weren't big enough to cover the bottom of the cupcake liner, and also the cheesecake was a little too cakey. If I try these again I will probably make a graham cracker crumb crust and add some sour cream to the cheesecake batter.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
The dough was very easy to work with after 12 hours in the fridge. I didn't think the taste was amazing, but sugar cookies are generally pretty plain; my main reason for not rating 5 stars was that they were a little too puffy and didn't hold detail very well. Next time I will roll them thinner, which will hopefully help with the puffiness.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
Very good. I will have to cook it for a minute or two less next time because the cookie dough was cooked around the edges, but that's my fault.

Soft Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
Pretty good taste, my only issue was the texture was a litttle crumbly. I liked the recipe enough that I will give it a second shot, maybe I will beat the PB and butter together for a little while longer to help with the texture.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
They tasted pretty good but I couldn't get past the texture; my husband, who will eat almnost anything, took two bites and said he couldn't eat it. I think if I try them again I will not mash them up too much, and maybe add something for some texture, since they were very mushy-feeling.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
They tasted pretty good, but I had a difficult time getting them shaped correctly, they ended up looking like lumpy rolls. That's my own fault, but the reason I deducted one star is the texture isn't quite what I expected, I think next time I make them I will make the ropes thinner so they look like pretzels, and dunk them in a pot of simmering baking soda water instead of the wash in this recipe.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
It was OK, I will probably make it again with a few adjustments. I tend to like a little more heat, so I will add some dry pepper flakes.
