I was skeptical trying this recipe. My first try at a 'substitute'. I used fresh
minced garlic and gr pepper, only the eggyolk, added worcheshire and hot sauce no salt, Italian bread crumbs instead of cracker. I will definitely make this for myself and my family in the future, as a burger, and as a salisbury steak style dish, and with a tomato type dish. This is very versatile and if you don't tell them, the won't know the difference!
