I grew up overseas so I have a diverse palette which allows me to try almost anything at least twice. I am a huge fan of Andrew Zimmern and would love to be on his show one day sampling fare from around the world; as long as its unusual/unique and is not an insect.
My favorite things to cook
Sushi/Sashimi, Steaks on the grill, fish dishes, BBQ Ribs (I start them in the crock-pot for 4-6 hours and finish them in the broiler), Dim Sum,
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookouts on the weekends: lobster, shrimp, steaks, portobello mushrooms, you name it. Whatever the menu is, they are prepared on the grill.
My cooking triumphs
Baking my first Lemon Meringue Pie at the age of 10. Matter of fact I could bake anything better then than I can now.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to smoke fresh caught rainbow trout in a cheap smoker. Whoopsie.
