Old Charleston Style Shrimp and Grits

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2014
Absolutely amazing! Restaurant quality! My bf has been bugging me about making him shrimp and grits but I've kinda of been putting it off because I have no idea how to make shrimp and grits. I don't even eat shrimp!!! So how was I supposed to pull this off? Well this recipe was my secret weapon! OMG! This was AMAZING!!! He lite up like a Christmas tree! I made fire roasted corn (roasting in the oven for 8 mins with butter and cayenne pepper) and put that around the outside of the grits which was not only a nice decorative additive but delicious with the grits. I also made a side of sweet corn bread. I am now the QUEEN in my house because of this. I can't believe it came out this great on my first try. I will definitely cook this again for more people to impress them. :) Only thing I will do next time is prep everything first to cut down on time. This time I was reading the recipe and doing everything at the same time but it still came out FANTASTIC! Okay gotta go...its time for a second helping! YUM!

Jay's Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
I loved this recipe. I made it as the recipe suggested but added some minced garlic and 2 tablespoons of lime juice with it and it was fantastic. I will however use habanero peppers next time because I think it could be a little spicier (if you are one of those like me that likes it HOT!). The jalapenos gave it a nice mild flavor though. I also boiled some of the remainder marinade and used that to pour over the rice I made. GREAT!!!! LOVED IT! I will certainly make this again and again.

Spaghetti a la Philly

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
I really liked this recipe. The cream cheese was a nice added touch. I did make some changes though. I used bow tie pasta instead of regular spaghetti noodles and I did not add ground beef. I just combine the prego sauce, cream cheese, added basil, a Tbs of minced garlic, garlic pepper, and salt to taste. I topped it off with some parmesan cheese on top. It was really easy and very tasty. I will be making this again in the future.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2009
Recipe was fantastic! It came out absolutely amazing and it was delicious. I did make a couple of changes. I added a half squeezed fresh lemon, lump crab, garlic salt and garlic pepper to taste. I made this with some homemade garlic bread and it was to die for. I am keeping this recipe for a work pot luck or superbowl party. A definite crowd pleaser.

Apricot Chicken I

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
I love making this chicken. I've made it multiple times and it's always a hit. I made the recipe just like the recipe suggests except at the end, I would say the last 10 mins of cooking I spoon out a little extra apricot preserves onto the chicken and it tastes great! Love it.

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
This recipe was absolutely fantastic!!! Family fav!! I did exactly what one viewers said, except I added my own little twist. 1.)I marinated the meat in white wine for 2 hours. 2.)Then I took it out and browned it in the pan. 3.)Removed it. 4.)Sauteed my sweet yellow onion and garlic for a couple of minutes. 5.)Then I added my flour and let that brown for 1 mins. 6.)Then added my meat back along with one can of beef stock. 7.)Then I added the mustard and a few drops of worchestshire. 8.)THEN (this is where I added my own twist) I added one packet of Lipton's beef onion soup to the mix and 1/3 cup of water. 9.)I let it cook for 30 mins on medium and then I added the 1/3 cup sour cream and 1/3 cup of cream cheese and let it simmer on low. When it was done I put this over some egg noodles with some garlic bread and TA_DAH! I absolutely LOVED THIS RECIPE!!! My boyfriend's roommates are in love with me now because they think I am some sort of cooking godess! Little do they know I got this one online. Muahahhaha! (evil laugh)
