Sour Cream Cupcakes

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Nice dense but still moist, and not overly sweet. I also added 1/4 cup milk and used butter not crisco. The tops were a smooth lightly crisp top, not the sticky tops that come with box mixes. Easier to put the frosting on that way! Wonderful recipe!

EAGLE BRAND® Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
Always a good combination of ingredients! I left out the peanuts, added vanilla to the peanut butter. It is a little dry to eat, need a big glass of milk! Had to use an immersion blender to mix the pb and can of condensed milk. also had to add a tad of milk to thin it out as it was a little thick. Next time I'm going to try nutella instead of the pb for a different flavor.

Royal Icing III

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out as perfect as promised! It was just what I needed for our Christmas cookies. It dried within an hour of frosting them, and held on to all our sprinkles and stars! I added a little vanilla extract and lemon extract- very sweet!

Pumpkin-Apple Muffins with Streusel Topping

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
Best muffin I've ever made!! And I've made lots! I used the food processor for the apples, I didn't want huge chunks of apple in the muffins. I also used brown sugar on the topping instead of white. There was a sweet crunch to the top and the muffins were very moist.

German Apple Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I've made lots of cakes from Allrecipes.com and this one is amazingly great! I didn't know what to expect based on the picture but mine was beautiful. The caramel-like topping was a little more than I needed- I had leftovers. I used walnut halves sprinkled over the cake and poured the sauce over them. I used apple pie mixed spices instead of just cinnamon. I left out the raisins since I'm not a big fan, but it was just wonderful tasting and very easy to make.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
Very easy and yummy! I added more sugar since I like things sweet and my apples weren't too sweet to begin with.

Two Tier Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
Mine was tasty, but the cream cheese layer was very runny. Next time I'll use more cream cheese. I also had more than enough of the goo for the strawberries.

Buttermilk Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
Formed a nice chewy top layer, creamy inside. Very mild flavor. Remotely reminded me a bit of a lemon square- with not enough of the lemon in it.

Chewy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2008
The butter flavor is great. These are very chewy- perfect. Crunchy on the edges, soft in the middle. They hold up well over a few days too. We roll ours in colored sugar for whatever the season. Thanks for the great recipe!

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
I followed other's advice and baked at 350 for 20 minutes. I also added onion powder and extra peppers. Otherwise it would've been too bland. For the top I crushed up wheat Ritz crackers with the parm cheese and added a little asiago cheese too. Took it to a gathering and it disappeared! ruffles go well with it since they have alot of salt. thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Riggies

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
Good combination of ingredients, but for our taste it needed a little more. I added half a cup of canned mushrooms and 1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes. I only used a 16ounce can of red tomatoes and didn't add the red cherry pepper (didn't have any!) The biggest improvement for me was that I blended the veggies in a blender after cooking. (Just a bit!) This made it much creamier and smoother. (Plus my kids didn't pick out the chunks of veggies!) I also added a whole cup (rather than a 1/2) of heavy cream as another reviewer wrote. I also boiled the chicken in chicken broth to cook it (juicier) and then cut it up and added it to the sauce to simmer for 30 minutes. Yummo! Thanks for the recipe!

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Not very chewy, they stayed thick and didn't really spread. I have a real sweet tooth- and this just didn't cut it for me. Definitely needs a frosting... Probably won't make again.

Italian Creme Layer Cake

Reviewed: May 16, 2008
The best cake recipe I've ever done from this website! The cake was heavy and rich. I halfed the icing recipe and I put a few tablespoons of buttermilk. It thinned it out a bit. I put it only in between the layers and on the top since it is so rich and sweet! Thanks for such an amazing recipe!

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
Easy to make, not too sweet. I did like other reviewers said and used 3 lemons. I also put in almond extract in the crust. Top is nice and chewy/ gooey. Only gave it 4 stars because I like it a little sweeter and lemony.
