Chocolate Mint Dessert Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2014
These things are dangerously easy to make, especially when you take the easy route and use a box mix for the brownies.

Quick and Easy Mexican Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2014
This was fantastic and easy to make! I didn't have cumin, so to give it the Mexican feel, I added taco seasoning instead. I happened to have some queso in my fridge, so before I put on the salsa and cheese, I put a thin layer of that on. I served it with a small dollop of sour cream and it was fantastic! My husband enthusiastically told me I should make this one of my standard dishes and that his family (who loves "safe" recipes) would absolutely love it.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2014
I have been making this recipe for almost a decade now and it has made me a hit at parties. People request this from me. I misplaced the recipe a few years ago and frantically went through dozens of recipes until I found it again. Why the desperation? I have NEVER tasted any other mac&cheese recipe that comes close to tasting like this. It is a uniquely rich experience. If you like the homestyle mac and cheese bake (instead of the creamy type) I cannot recommend trying this enough.

Slow Cooker Tamale Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2013
Fascinating recipe. I followed it to the letter and ended up putting some hot sauce on the finished product for some additional zest. I'm not sure if I would make this as is again, it was a smidge bland for me, but this is a really clever base for future things. I didn't know you could make muffin mix in the slow cooker! My only major observation is this had an eerily similar texture to banana bread.

Greek Lemon Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2013
I followed the recipe to a T. I LOVE lemon and I love Greek food. I am THAT person who goes into a restaurant and eats the lemons straight without wincing. So when I say this was too lemoney, take that how you will.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
A quick history of me: I'm weird. I love my starches and when I go out to eat, I frequently propose to good mashed potatoes. I am a good cook but I have never made mashed potatoes that I wanted to run away with. I want to have these every day ever. These are the greatest mashed potatoes I have ever eaten. Original poster of this recipe: You don't know me, but I want you to know I love you for introducing me to this beauty of a recipe!

Fresh Cherry Cobbler

Delicious! I have never made a cobbler before but based on everyone who ate this, this is an AMAZING cobbler. That is a LOT of butter though...

Jenny's Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2012
Stupid recipe. Now I can never truly enjoy jambalaya from a box again... ;) This was delicious! I sort of ignored the portion amounts and just put in the meat I had available and diced instead of cubed tomatoes. I do not have an electric skillet, so I cooked everything on my skillet and then transferred it into a pot, added the rice and broth, brought it to boiling and let it simmer for 25 minutes. This was delicious! This is definitely a good guideline for a great recipe. Thank you!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2012
This was fantastic. I only used a 3lb cut of meat but kept everything else the same. It came out SO well. My husband commented how different it tasted. I asked if he meant in a good or bad way. He replied "in a great way!" These keep really well as leftovers, I must admit while eating leftovers the next day I had to fight myself not to make this a weekly meal!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
I like sticking to the recipe the first time around if I've never done something similar (which is what I did). I...was not very impressed. The sauce was good and I'll definitely make that again to put over things, but the chops were a little dry and it was nothing that made my taste buds scream in joy. When I cook something for nearly 2 hours, I kind of want it to be something delicious and worth waiting for.

Mexican-Style Goulash

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
This recipe as is is a 4 star recipe. Super easy, fast and tasty. I only took one star off because it is rather bland without a few changes. I added taco seasoning and garlic powder and put taco cheese instead of cheddar. Either way though, this recipe is tasty and delicious. I'm definitely adding it to my recipe box for future cooking under the title "Mexican Hamburger Helper!"

Tater Crisp Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
Tasty recipe. My cousin, such a finicky eater that I needed to abandon most of my recipes, ate 3 large legs! I'm giving this only a 3 as with butter the flakes didn't stick too well and it ended up crunchy in some parts and overly greasy in others. It also would have been a bit too bland had I not added salt and pepper to the flakes. I'm going to try this again someday with an egg instead and we'll see how it goes.

Spicy Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
I made this recipe with chicken brother and without sesame oil (I couldn't justify $8 for a tablespoon of something I'd never use again). This was definitely not the kind of food I would eat, it was a very unique taste. However, the other person I made this dish for LOVED it. She couldn't stop raving about it and due to the fact I didn't care that much for its taste, insisted she take home the leftovers (and the curry paste)! This was definitely a unique recipe and aside from all the prep work (chopping up vegetables), insanely easy to make. Thanks for posting it!

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
It was okay. Generally I rate on some combination of prep time/effort versus taste. This took a bit of time to prepare. I followed the recipes and the suggestions in the review, but my sauce never thickened. It was okay, but I'd probably just make the sauce and throw it over pasta rather than making the whole thing.

Nikki's Steak Saltimbocca

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
I needed slightly more than 8-10 minutes to cook. I like my food still mooing but my guests like theirs actually cooked. Still, this was a HUGE hit. Absolutely delicious, as were the leftovers. Which there were TONS of. I'm not quite sure how you reached 6 as a serving size for those ingredients but we had way more left over than was actually eaten. Also, the meal was very expensive to make. High class meat, expensive steak...worth it, but only for very special occasions!

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
I took the advice of the person a few posts down and shook the chicken and seasoning up thoroughly in a plastic bag, then coated the bottom with salsa. What flavor! Anything my S.O. asks for seconds on is a hit! I wasn't so enthusiastic about this recipe, but it was very tasty and SO easy to make. I don't think I've cooked a dinner with only ONE pot to clean in years!

Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
This recipe scared me at first, it sounded somewhat complex. Boy, was I wrong. This was almost offensively easy to make. When they say double the recipe for sauce, they mean the broth...great idea! I made it over rice and it came out delicious. If you like lemon, this is a fantastic recipe.

Cheddar Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
Mmm. This was pretty easy to make and came out really well. I'd suggest skimping a bit on the breadcrumb/rice crispies part of the recipe though, I had a TON left over despite generously rubbing it on.
