This is a great recipe, however, I made it as is, and it was way too spicy. After researching how to cut down the heat, I added three more table spoons of sugar, a couple squirts of ketchup, some shredded carrots and squeezed an orange on top. Oh, and I threw in the rest of the beer. This cut down on the unbearable heat, but still kept the great flavors this chili has. It ended up with just a little kick, rather than a ton. I will definitely make this chili again, but maybe next time with a little less tobasco sauce, hot chili beans, chili powder, cumin and peppers and add more veggies, sugar and beer. My very picky chef husband loved it and said I had his permission to make it again if it tastes that good.
