Kelsey's Cheesy Bacon Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
I have been trying different chicken recipes because at the age of 60 I am sick of everything I have cooked for the past 40 years! This one is a little too much fat for me but it was ok for a change. My grandaughter thought it was great. For her it had all the best food groups, chicken, barbeque sauce, cheese and bacon! Makes me gain weight just thinking about it.

Egg and Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
This is a great recipe. I first made it for Christmas morning last year. I am not fond of green chilis so I just grate some onion instead to zip up the flavor. I have done it both with the chilis as well as using ham or other meat. It is always good. I also play with the cheese, everything from cheddar to cut up small chunks of cream cheese instead of cottage cheese. Always comes out great!

Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
My favorite variation to this recipe is to mix the bacon with a cup of spinach dip from the deli counter. Roll the chicken breast in rye bread crumbs and saute it in butter before stuffing it. Then bake in oven as described. There is no blue cheese but it is just great!

Cabbage and Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
Great basic recipe. I have made this for years (Polish you know!!) After 40 years I think I have thought of most every variation. They are all good with this dish. I usually make mine in a skillet then add noodles at the end with a half cup of sour cream. It is just a nice touch, tastes great!

Dutch Apple Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
This was a nice cake. I made it in a smaller tube pan and put the apples some butter brown sugar and some cinnamon on the bottom then put batter on top. The apples and brown sugar made a nice glaze when the cake was turned out of the pan. It is great warm but keeps well too for morning coffee.

Strawberry Dream Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
I have made this recipe twice now. Both times it was very good. However the second time I used a cake mix that called for three eggs so I added a forth as the recipe said. (add an extra egg!) Don't do that. Three eggs is enough the forth makes it just too heavy. It was still good but comparing it to the first cake it was not as good. For best results use the strawberry cream cheese, there is something about it that just makes a difference. I used the regular cream cheese the second time and just added a tablespoon of strawberry preserves and it tasted very good but was not as good as when I used the strawberry cream cheese. As for the icing I did the icing that was suggested the first time and it was good but all the things the other reviewers said I found to be true. Just realize that it will be a little difficult to work with. The second cake I used the icing recipe that I found on here several years ago and it has been my stand by since. 1 cup of whipping cream whipped with 1 box of instant pudding(I use cream cheese flavor) and then fold it into a 8 oz tub of cool whip. It is nice and stiff and tastes great. It compliments this cake well.
