My mother's side of the family is from Savoy, France and my father's side is from a very small town in North Carolina. I grew up with a very diverse culinary background. I've been cooking ever since I can remember but at 18 years old I still have alot to learn. My style of cooking is just to cook food that I love to eat and make dishes that bring my family together. I love the American idea of taking one culture of food and mixing it in with another. I believe that putting time, thought, and heart into a meal is guaranteed to make it the best.
My favorite things to cook
I love making southern food like fried cornbread, chicken, grits, collard greens, pimento cheese ... I also love to make soup de crécy (I call it meme soup after my grandmother), coq au vin, chicken and 40 cloves of garlic, goat cheese salads, fennel & parmesan gratin... I have this thing for trying to make the diner classics more gormet. I also love all types of traditional mexican, greek, and irish foods.
My cooking tragedies
I've overcooked the steak a couple times.
