Apple Cinnamon White Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2014
YUM! I really loved this recipe! made a couple small changes - first off, I cooked it in a bundt cake pan and it worked out really well (it wasn't as "deep" as it probably is in the bread pan but it worked). I also added about a teaspoon of cinnamon to the actual cake mixture, too, to give it a wee cinnamon boost, since I love cinnamon. I also added a teaspoon of Kosher Salt to bring out the flavors, and I used Soy Milk instead of regular milk (we just prefer it), and cooked it at 350 for about 45 minutes - everything else I did exactly as the recipe suggested and it turned out moist & DEEELICIOUS! my family could have mowed down the entire thing in one sitting - I'm saving this to my recipe box and will definitely make it again (might add a tiny bit more apple next time, too ;-)) - thanks for the great recipe, Jinglebells!

Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
this was delicious! i think the key is to taste test it as you go, I added a bit less icing sugar and more cream cheese & lemon and zest than called for, and only a couple drops of vanilla, and really it was AMAZING! i cut the recipe in half and it was perfect to ice the top of a decent sized (lemon) birthday cake - my fam loved it! :-)

Patty's Tofu Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
these were alright. I added more spices and tried to jazz them up a bit because they were really really bland the first time around. Anyways, they still feel like they're missing something, I'm just not totally sure what. I don't think I'll make them this way again.

Jelly Cookies

these are DELICIOUS! only thing I gotta say is it's a tough mix if you don't have anything to help and are just using a fork and your arm, but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT because these turned out so good! they taste like shortbread, and they make a lot more than 18. mine made about 30! Mmmm!

Lemon Bread

Deeeeelicious! Works with almond milk, too. I baked at 355 for 40 mins and it was just right! And a teaspoon of melted butter instead of water as well as a bit of lemon zest in the glaze was mmmm mmm perfect! Thanks for the recipe, I'll be back to make this one again!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
I followed the ingredients exactly, only doubling the salt because I was using Kosher salt (so good, much better than your average salt, imo), and these turned out SO GOOD! NOTE: I didn't chill the dough mixture in the fridge first, I didn't squish them with a sugared fork - I left them like little balls the size of walnuts instead and they were PERFECT, and perfectly sweet. I also cooked them for 11 - 12 mins instead of 10 which made them nice and chewy. Oh, and I added chocolate chips - I'm thinking raisins would've been delicious too. I also cut the recipe in half and it made at least 18 cookies - maybe more (I'm a dork, I didn't count them, but there were two pans full!) - Anyways, these were so good and super easy to make! I mixed it all by hand and it was easy-schmeasy! 5 stars!

Country Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2011
loved it! easy to make and super delicious! I cut the recipe to 18 (which made 12 good sized muffins) and used a whole can of pumpkin along with less water (i used about 1/4 cup) - also used pecans and little bits of chocolate and baked them 19 minutes total - and they're PERFECT! YUM! :-)

Vegan Brownies

Reviewed: May 25, 2011
edited to add: I *also* just made these with coconut oil (about half of what is suggested turns out best) and shredded coconut - DELICIOUS and so easy to make - I always cut the recipe in half now and still make them in a pie pan. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just made these and they turned out soooo GOOD! I cut the oil (I used olive oil and it's delicious) to 1/2 a cup and used 1 & 1/2 cups water with it - I also added pecans. It took about twice as long to cook for me but I used a large pie pan and it was pretty full. Anyways, YUM! Thanks!! I'll make these again and probably try to use apple sauce next time for a healthier version. Oh yeah, and make sure to use raw sugar so they stay vegan! :-)

YUM! thanks!

DEEEELicious! these cookies are amazing and so easy to make - the only thing I did differently was mix it all with a fork since I don't have a mixer right now, but it turned out perfectly. I love these and I'll definitely make them again! Thanks for sharing!

Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
this turned out AMAZINGLY, and it was my very first pie EVER! LOVE it... so so good. The only suggestion I have is to add enough sliced up apples to make it a bit of a pile/little hill in the crust (even if it seems like it's too much, it's not) before putting the top crust on and baking it since they shrink a tiny bit when they cook - I used 7 regular sized apples and would probably use 9 next time. Other than that, SOOOOO *GOOD*!! Thank you for sharing! I'll definitely use this recipe again - can't wait!

Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
Just baked my first ever pie with this amazing crust! I did everything exactly as suggested in the recipe and it was perfect - I used Crisco for the shortening and it worked out really well. And I used cold water from my fridge, adding about a tablespoon at a time, it turned out perfectly. It's really just so flaky and delicious! I'll use this recipe for my future recipes to come, thank you so much for sharing! :-)

I *love* this recipe! I throw this together often, the only changes I've made are wholewheat flour, a splash of vanilla, and I use real butter & pecans. This always turns out SO DELICIOUSLY MOIST. Seriously, I can't get enough of this wonderful banana bread recipe - thanks so much for sharing it!

I made these last night, added an extra banana & a little nutmeg, and had to cook them about twice as long, but they turned out good! They're a little bland, but not bad! I think I'll make them again but add a lil' sweetener of some kind ;-) Thank you!

Well, I just made these tonite and they seemed to turn out pretty good! I used soy milk instead of regular milk and I used olive oil because it was the only oil we had, but they still turned out really yummy :-) I also added some chopped pecans - a delicious lil' extra! Thanks for this recipe! I'll definitely make it again.

Vegetarian Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
This is THE BEST veggie gravy recipe in the entire universe. My partner and I have been looking for a good vegetarian gravy recipe for a long time now, as most of them seem to be kinda difficult or have mushrooms, etc., in them (which he hates) but we both love this one sooooo much. It's good on absolutely anything and everything. And it's simple and quick to make. LOVE it!
