A quick scrappy yarn crochet project that will come in handy if you have those HOT IRON SKILLETS. They whip up in less then 15 mins. I will be whipping up alot of these to use up lots of scrap yarn.SO WHAT DO YOU THINK???????

Oh they are sooooooo cute!!!! I'm sending an e-mail to you - - hope I'll be one of the "lucky" ones to get a skillet mitt!! I love them - how talented and creative you are!!

hope I'll be a "lucky" one too! They would go straight to my cast iron skillet!! Have been thinking about getting one of these for a while, but don't know how to knit... :(

Fantastic idea! I will not be putting my name in the hat...I will let somebody else be the Lucky one seeing as I know how to crochet and will be whipping one up myself, probably this weekend. Thank you for the inspiration!

I don't plan to allow them to stay on the pot while cooking just to remove it from the stove however I can't be responsible for what other people do

Kristy yes whipping them up your self is great you can use leftover scraps I used cotton just to avoid the acrylic yarn getting HOT :O) I crochet for something to do plus I have a lot of DOWN time at my job so crocheting takes up 30 + hours a week at work :O)

That is a FANTASTIC idea! We've been cooking steaks in the oven and the other night I burned the heck out of my hand grabbing the handle. Geez I knew the skillet just came out of the oven too! That would have been great to slip over the handle.

My favorite things to cook
I cook real food not all the fancy plated kind. Meat/potatoes/bread/veggies.I enjoy baking as well. Snacks to fill the munch hole....I also make recipes that can replace store bought Box/Jar/Bottle items. That I can make in my home. From Simple Syrup to Mexican flavor Rice Mixes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Teaching my child to be able to read/review and cook a recipes. My family likes to keep things very simple be yet tasty with quick style meals that anyone can make. Currently have a master list of meals we like or what you can make with a specific type of meat.
My cooking triumphs
Getting my daughter to plan a dinner for me with out being asked and cooking it and serving it.. :)Dec 2008 !!But the kitchen was a mess after:)
My cooking tragedies
I am a left over user upper and I attempted to feed my fiance leftover sloppy joe in Taco salad didn't fly...I loved it lol:) But then I am crazy that way...
