Grandma's Pepper Slaw

I used this recipe on top of pulled pork. I liked the combination, my husband didn't, unfortunately. Thank you for submitting this recipe.

Rosemary Lemon Margarita

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
This is a really refreshing margarita, but just a tad too tart for our tastes. I think the next time I shake some of these up, I'll use a simple syrup rather than sugar itself, that way it will combine better and take some of the tartness out. It was an unusual flavor combination that is well worth the effort to make. Note to self: don't overfill the cocktail shaker because the carbonation of the club soda will pop the top off!

Oat Wheat Bread for Bread Maker

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
I didn't make this in a bread machine. I made rolls for pulled pork with this recipe. I have to say that the bread was delicious, but not what I was looking for as far as pulled pork. I definately will be making this again so I can slice it up and make toast in the morning with it. Fantastic recipe, thanks for submitting it!

Oven Fried Okra

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
I really do like okra, but I had such a problem with the panko crumbs sticking to these with just the non-stick spray that they had me wanting to pull my hair out! I'm giving this a 2 star review because my okra hating husband said that I managed to get the slime out of them. I think if I were to attempt making these again, I would roll them in flour, then dip in an egg-wash and then roll in straight cornmeal. In my opinion, it was a waste of my panko crumbs. Thank you for submitting the recipe, I really did want to like it.

Soy and Honey Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
I'm going to rate the base of this recipe as I never follow one to the letter. I did add 2 ingredients that made this completely over the top. I added 1 teaspoon of lime juice and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil and it made it fantastic. I think this is a great recipe for a BBQ beginner. Thanks for submitting it, we all enjoyed it here and my husband said I can definately make this one again.

Waffles I

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
These turned out pretty good for me last night. I did switch buttermilk for regular milk, but the measurements were spot on for 6 good size waffles. I threw the leftovers in the freezer for another day. I did take a picture of these, but my camera settings are not compatible with AllRecipes, so, unfortunately, I can't post it. But all-in-all this is a really good recipe. Thanks for sharing it.

Beer Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
I made these for dinner last night (St. Patrick's Day) and I used a pale Irish ale in them. I added a teaspoon of garlic powder, as well...I'll make these again, but I'll probably reduce the salt to 3/4 of a teaspoon. I didn't roll these out, instead I patted them out to about an inch in thickness and cut them out with a rock glass...perfect size. The beer and baking powder make them rise up beautifully. Thanks for this recipe...it's going to be a fun one to play around with.

I made this the other night and it was fantastic! Unfortunately, the settings on my camera are not compatible with the settings for AR or I would have uploaded a photo. I really like the simplicity of this recipe and I like how refreshihng the lemon is...thanks for sharing this, Chop Suey...I hope you share some more soon!

Country Oatmeal Cookie in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
I read the reviews that said to start with the flour and so on, but even after packing and packing, I still was not able to fit 1/2 cup of the flour in my quart jar, let alone the raisins that I was going to sub for the chocolate chips. I was pretty disappointed and would have really liked to give this a higher review, but I just can't. Thank you for submitting this recipe, but I'll just continue on my quest.

This was pretty good. I do think that it may need just a pinch of salt in the dressing, though. Thanks for a great recipe.

Tomato Soup Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
The taste is phenominal. I wouldn't have thought of ever using tomato soup in a cake, but the recipe sounded so bizarre I had to give it a whirl and I'm glad I did. The only thing I did different was to cut the recipe in half as a 9 x 13 pan wouldn't fit in my RV oven. I am giving this a 4 star review because the texture is crumbly. Thanks for a great tasting recipe!

Swedish Chanterelle Mushroom Pate

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
I was fortunate enough to have a very kind neighbor who gave me a couple of pounds of fresh chantrelles. I thought this recipe looked intriguing and I wanted to try it. I read the reviews and, honestly, I've never heard of either dried or frozen chantrelles, and I can't imagine either would be good. This is a recipe for the fresh ones and this recipe didn't disappoint, at all! This is fantastically delicious and I'm so glad you submitted it! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!! Thanks!

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
Sometimes the best things in life really do only contain 3 ingredients! This recipe couldn't be simpler, couldn't be easier and could't be more delicious! I served on hoagie rolls with provolone cheese. I did spoon some of the cooking liquid over the top to soak into the bread a bit...this does not need one condiment to compliment, in my opinion, the taste can stand up alone. Fantastic recipe and I've probably made this 10 or 12 times now...it is a monthly staple in our RV. I have made this with whole pepperoncinis, but find that buying the jar of already sliced works a bit better for me. This is just a fantastic recipe that is worthy of TEN stars if AR allowed us to rate it as such!

Turkish Halwa

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
I halved the recipe, but I did need to use a touch of extra butter to get the flour to come together into a dough. I used one reviewer's suggestion of boiling the water and molasses for around 10 minutes to reduce it a bit and I really enjoyed these! Super easy to make and nothing like I've ever tasted before. I have to agree with the person who said they liked the fact that there is no refined sugar in these. I'll make these again, thanks for a great recipe!

Jamaican Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
I was quite pleasantly suprised by this recipe. My first thought was GROSS, but then I read the reviews and pretty much, on the whole, they were saying that this was a perfect compliment to a Jamaican Jerk recipe. So I thought I would give it whirl. I'm really glad that I did...and it was a perfect compliment to Jay's Jerk Chicken from this site. Only one person out of the five I made it for didn't like it...and that was solely because she doesn't like bananas. We won't count her...LOL! Thanks for a really unique and delicious recipe that I had a lot of fun making!!
