Cinnamon Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
This is the first time I have ever had homemade syrup. We thought it was pretty good.I might even try adding a little butter next time. The first thing my 8 year old said was "that was awesome give me some more."It was a nice change from the same old boring maple syrup...since I doubled the recipe (to make sure there was plenty) I put the remaining syrup in an empty syrup bottle and placed it in the fridge. That seemed to work fine then you just microwave it for 10-20 seconds to warm it up the next time.

Bundle of Veggies

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This is very good. The seasonings are perfect together. You could use any vegtables you wanted which is great. Also if you don't want to grill them, I have cooked them in the oven at 350 for about 30-40 minutes (depending on how big the chunks are) It is still great this way. Thanks for sharing

Coconut Pineapple Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
We thought this was pretty good. After reading reviews I decided to use the coconut milk instead of the chicken broth. The only thing I will do next time is double the ingredients for the sauce so there is enough to spoon over a bed of rice. Also I did use fresh pinapple which I feel made it even better. Canned is softer and sweeter so if I had to use it, I would cut out the extra sugar. As for the reserved pineapple juice, I just threw some extra pinapple in a blender until it was mushy/creamy. I grilled my chicken then sliced it.

Porchetta Italiana

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
Wow! This was the best pork roast I have ever made. The flavor was great. My roast was tender and moist. But I did cook it in a roasting bag because I was afraid I would dry it out. I also used a meat thermometer and made sure that I didn't over cook it. I took one reviewers suggestion and cut the salt in half just because I didn't want it to be overly salty. You can add it but you can't take it away. I'm glad I did because it was perfect. This is now my favorite pork roast recipe. UPDATE: Most of the time I only marinate this for 6-8 hours and it still has good flavor.

Seasoning For Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
This was really good seasoning. I did use only 2 tsp. salt after reading the reviews but other than that I left the rest the same. I like that it wasn't spicy for my kids but yet flavorful. But if you like things hot you better up the cayenne pepper or whatever. Instead of the ususal hamburger tacos, I took a small pot roast and cut it up into very very small pieces. Then I seasoned the meat and threw it on a hot cast iron griddle and seared it. I served it with all the usual taco fixing-corn tortillas, cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, guacamole, sour cream, limes, seared peppers and onions MMMMM....good. It was like eating in a good mexican restaurant. Thank you!!

Cherry Cheese Delight

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
This was really good....the nutty crust was a nice change from the usual graham cracker crust. The pecans added a lot of flavor to it so don't skip it unless you need to (allerges, etc.) thanks for sharing

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
These pancakes are awesome. I keep buttermilk in my fridge at all times because we make these pancakes almost weekly. I do use low fat buttermilk but I don't know how much of a difference that makes because I have never bought regular??? All I know is that a group of us girls went to breakfast at a local restaurant and I ordered buttermilk pancakes....needless to say they didn't even come close to being as good as making this recipe. It does make a lot... so I half the recipe.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
This was very good. The only thing I did different was that I used frozen blackberries instead of fresh. I personally thought it was a touch sweet but my husband thought it was perfect. It went great with ice cream! I will make a little more topping next time.

Three Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
This was really good. I did use garbanzo beans in place of the wax beans since that was what I had. Also after reading some of the reviews I decided to cut the sugar to a 1/2 cup. It was sweet enough for us. That is the nice thing about most recipes...you can alter them to your liking. And that's o.k. because we all have different tastes.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
Not that this recipe needs any more reviews...it's more for my recipe box than anything. We thought that it was good. I like that it was easy to prepare and the chicken was tender and moist. But my husband and I thought that it was missing something. Next time I will follow others' advice and use fresh garlic and extra spices. I did use a couple tbls. of cream and cornstarch to thicken the sauce so we could serve it over linguine.

Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake with Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
My sister can't have gluten so I surprised her with this as a special Christmas treat. She loved it. It reminds me of brownies. Very rich and chocolately. The caramel sauce is a nice touch. I will take others' suggestions and try whipped topping or ice cream next time to see what we like best. For the fun of it I thought about substituting some white choc. chips in place of the 8 oz. of chocolate to see how that tastes.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
These were pretty good and easy to make. The only thing I added was chopped walnuts. Next time, right before baking, I am going to try adding some white chocolate chips or maybe some peanut butter chips for a different flavor.

Mexican Style Shredded Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
My husband really liked this. It was a bit spicy for me but I added a dallop of sour cream to mine and ate it with tortillas. Then it was fine. The only thing I did different was that I added the cilantro to the meat because we like it. And I made my own spanish rice.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
These were good and easy to make. I didn't roll the dough into a rectangle. I just divided it then rolled it back and forth a few times to shape them into long loaves.

Spaghetti Sauce II

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
This was good.I slow cooked it in a crock pot for about 4-5 hours. I didn't have the sausage on hand, so I baked some homemade meatballs. I threw them in the sauce the last 2 hours. I also used fresh herbs from my garden instead of dried.

Pretzel Turtles

Very good, simple to make and look nice too!. As someone else suggested double the recipe or even triple it. They won't last long. I did toast the pecans first and I'm glad I did.

Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
This was pretty good...I had to use whipping cream since I didn't have any 1/2 and 1/2 and I just used a touch of milk to thin it a little. I loved the flavor the bell peppers gave it. And for the fun of it, next time I will experiment with it and try fresh garlic and maybe some italian seasonings as other suggested.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
We thought that this was good. I did add a dash or two of worcestershire sauce and garlic powder. But next time I will try using a couple cloves of garlic and some cayenne instead. I agree with some that putting the pasta to the side would be better so that it doesn't soak up a lot of liquid and become mushy.
