Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
Made this recipe with 1 very minor change. I left out the potatoes, and made home made mashed potatoes instead (to help use all that scrumptious gravy!). Very delicious, and we didn't have any left overs (with a 7 & 8 year old loving it). House smelled great all day. Stew meat was so tender it melted in your mouth! Voted by all in our house to make again and again!

Easy Mexican Casserole

Made as stated in the original recipe with one change, black beans. Very kid friendly, as you can recognize every ingredient after it's cooked. Very important in casseroles for my 5 & 6 year olds....and they asked me to make it again! Thank you for sharing.

Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Awesome recipe. Just like my Mom and Grandma made. Was my very first time making fudge (or any candy for that matter). Followed the directions to the letter, and it came out perfect. Read several of the reviews here...which really helped me to 'take my time'. Once the mixture starts boiling, it slowly rises in temperature as the liquid boils off, about 1 degree/minute. When my digital thermometer hit 238, I turned off the flame, and started stirring again. Poured it into a buttered 8x8 dish and 30 minutes on a cooling rack, it's as good as Grandma's house on Christmas eve. I may try some pecans in it next time. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Stir-Fry

Have made this recipe two ways, the only difference is vegetables. As is, it's awesome, but our 4 & 5 year olds are not too keen on the vegetables. The other way, we make the recipe exactly to proportion, just using water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, and snow peas. Kids asked for seconds, and to make the dish more often!

World's Best Lasagna

Very good recipe as is. I made extra sauce with meat and froze it (based on other feedback), to speed up the process for the next batch. Definitely develops flavor for the second day, can't wait to see how the extra meat sauce turns out!

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Awesome recipe as originally made, kids love it, asked for seconds, and then asked for the leftovers. We've also made it half 'n' half, half as original for the kids, and half spicy. Just add your extras to one half when moving to the baking pan.

Great Recipe. 'Make it again, please', even from the 5 & 6 year olds in our family. Thank you for sharing.

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

A favorite of ours. Slight variation for making slow cooker version....after following the recipe for step one, I put everything in a slow cooker on high for about 2 and a half hours. Stir gently about every 45 minutes. Really makes the house smell wonderful, and everyone is eager to dig in when they get home.

Our family loves this recipe. I leave out the peppers and onion (to make it kid friendly). To add back in the onion, I use a tablespoon of onion powder during the meat browning step. Rarely any leftovers.

White Bread For The Bread Machine

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
I have finally found the PERFECT white bread recipe (after searching and trying for six months!) for my bread machine. Followed recipe exactly. The only problem with this recipe....is that there aren't any leftovers for sandwiches on the second day! Thank you for sharing.
